"Added ability to swipe from first channel directly to the last channel and vice versa"

Has anyone been able to get this to actually work?

I tried that and it did not work for me. Just thought I must have miss read it until your post. This and the temporary loss of 72 Hour rewind is kind of strange. I think they are still going thru some startup "beta" type struggles.

I'm confused. The version before this latest update had a little circular arrow under the show name on the guide if you could go back and watch from the beginning. None of the channels on my guide have that now. Also, I can't figure out how to swipe from the beginning of the guide to the end. This latest version says you can do that. Are the circular arrows gone now and how do I swipe from beginning to end?
It's not the new version that is the issue, because I am using an old version on one of my devices. Thus it must be a server side issue where they have removed the feature for some reason. Perhaps it is the source of some of the errors. Not sure. But presumably it will return at some point when they get it all sorted out.

I'm loving it since I got the free AppleTV with 3 months. I expected growing pains so I'm not sweating it. You want perfect? Join a christian church lol. Here are my issues that I hope they improve:

Whenever you come back to the app the program should refresh and start without going to the guide.
The blue vertical line is pretty neat as it tells you where live tv is on the time-frame guide, but it's too skinny and hard to see.

Please please add CBS and NBC, then it would be perfect!

Whoever I come back to the App it starts with the channel I was watching when I left. If am watching a show and I exit the App and when I come back it continues the show. Does not go back to the Guide.

Yes, they should add CBS or they will be in trouble compared to VUE and the New Hulu expected in a few months. Regarding NBC, they already have live streaming on iOS so really need to make a deal to add it to tvOS.

Another channel we need in my house is the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. The strange thing it is on the lowest tier and not on any of the higher three tiers. Really makes not sense. This is a required channel for my wife. She also really likes the UP Channel which is not on any of the streaming services.

Of course to really compete they will at some point need a Cloud DVR.

But over all I am very happy with the service which is partly based on the special price us early adopters got. And the HBO/MAX for $5 each is pretty nice as well.

How would someone know that on iOS you can stream NBC - their website seems clunk. Having difficult gaining info from their website. Ive learned more about my DTN on these forums.

It may be hard to find but it states that you can stream NBC on mobile devices and the computer (web browser). And as a users I can tell you that I can stream on my iPad.

UPDATE:

From the top "Local live channels" see availability

Look on the bottom of the see availability page for this

**NBC live stream available on mobile and desktop devices only.

Does the NBC availability on iOS and computer vary with the locality you are in?

NBC does not show up here (Boulder, CO area) in the channel guide. But I do see some NBC shows such as Meet the Press and sitcoms in the show listings. Where it is available, is it just news and sitcoms or are live sports - such as NFL football - available for screening?

Thanks.

Full screen the video in the app and then hit the home button on your iPad. It'll automatically PIP the video when you bounce out to the home screen.

Thanks, IndianBird.
That seems to work very nicely on my iPad. Could find absolutely no instructions for PIP usage on the DirecTv.now website.

Does PIP also work on an iMac? If so, how?

Thanks !

NBC and other local channels are only available where the network owns and operates the stations.

On demand content seems weirdly inconsistent the more I use the service.

I noticed three things today:
1. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is present in other categories, but not under NBC in Networks.
2. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is listed under FXX in Networks but it is not present in other categories.
3. The new shows and returning shows categories under Home doesn't really look updated when new shows actually get brought on. It would be nice if it consistently updated when new shows are updated.

Really, really looking forward to the day when the VOD content gets plugged into the TV App for better navigation. I think What's On Now is the best way to navigate live television given the previews are there, great for being able to glance through. I've also noticed errors have dropped off for live TV over the past few days. Not a big fan of using the Guide, but it is what it is.

Also hoping 36hr replay and starting from the beginning of shows returns soon.

I signed up for the Hulu Live TV beta on the off chance that I'd actually get picked, but I'm still pretty excited about this service.

If you do give us updates. My main concern if all the stations are in at least 720p. No 480i crap.

Just got a questionnaire from a polling company about DTVN. From the type of questions asked, I definitely got the impression they were looking for what the major roadblocks would be to keep me from continuing my subscription. That's a good sign. And unlike most "polls", the questions asked weren't leading or twisted so you have to give a positive response. It read like they were really looking for info on issued experiences, features I want, how it compares to current service, etc. I think they may be getting the picture!!!
