disadvanteges of purchasing white iPhone?

Love mine and will never go back to the black one! Just be prepared to catch some flak from all your buddies for a little while. I gotta say that the girls at the bar will like you for having one to :cool:

Snap. I've always gone for black-not because I give a damn what people say but because I like it. I don't quite understand how some people manage to prefer white to black but I appreciate it is the case. Each to their own. :)
 
I got a white one and the only thing is finding cases for white is almost impossible, comparing if you have black.

Looks like iMovie for iPhone.

I went to go get an iPhone 4S yesterday and I could only find it in white. I passed. And I have a white Fender Stratocaster with a maple neck.
 
The white is really too pretty. Guys, what you you wear thats just as pretty?
 
Dislike the white iPhone because of the black "border" around the actual screen you look at. I'm extremely nitpicky, obviously but it is a major reason why I have a black one. With the black iPhone you won't notice the black edges around the screen. Other than that I don't have another reason.
 
How can the color of an iPhone change your gender :confused: LOL some people just don't understand (or their just bullies) :eek:
 
Owning a white iPhone won't make you a girl, that's just silly.

However, it is a great way to tell the world that you prefer other men's company!

Aaah just kidding, I got the white one myself.
It reminds me of the "original" Apple times where all their hardware (or almost) where white.
 
All the original iPods only came in white, and I think the white iPhone is great way to give honor for its roots.

I have a Black 4 but considering getting the White whenI can upgrade to the 4 S⃣ .
 
None... my wife loves hers. Well, with the exception of batterygate but we all know that's not unique to white.

Next year will be really interesting.

If you are a guy it is. The same would hold true if a girl described another girl as manly.
 
How old are you people that worry about having a "white" iPhone? Or, where are you from?

So absurd.
 
My original preference was the black 4S, as it has a sleeker and cooler look, IMHO,,, but due to impromptu purchase at Verizon store couple weekends ago, as they had just got in a shipment of the white versions, I went with the white… and I love the fact that (as others have mentioned) that it is like the classic Apple look, and it is different than the majority of the black models. So far, besides standing out a bit more, there have been no problems. :cool:
 
I love the concept of white iPhone. It looks good, on photos.

But in real world, apparently it has some cosmetic issues.

  • You can see the proximity sensor, make you see another hole on the top of your iPhone, that's a turn off.
  • You can see a bit black border of display because white is not blending well with it, and the display itself is a bit smaller than the white border.
  • It has some gray shadow around the screen on certain lighting condition. I have made thread about this, and confirmed that the white iPhone can look a bit translucent at times, exposing the black component behind the case. Almost look as if your eyes being punched :D

In short, white is nice, but black blends in better. It covers up almost any imperfection on iPhone faceplate appearance.

I love white, but I dont think I'd be able to bear those issues I mentioned earlier, so yes .. I'll go black instead.
