Ebay is your second best option. I always start my products at $0.99. 90% of the the time I get $100-$200 profit from what I originally purchased. I'm selling my 6 Plus to my friend for $1,200 compared to the 128GB full price of $1,026

Does your friend have a mental disability? If so, shame on you. If not, tell him I have a mint 5S for sale.

No crying here.

Galaxy and other top of the line Androids are far better values. Sold for hundreds less than the overpriced modestly equipped iPhone 6 and 6 Plus like I have, buying and selling frequently is part of the game. :D

Whether it's Galaxy S6 or iPhone 6, they're all overpriced. And it doesn't stop there. Just seeing the prices of the newly inroduced phones today, the Sony Z5/Premium and Huawei Mate S, it's absolute madness where they're all going in terms of product pricing. The profit margin is insane.

But yes, Apple's resale value - at least currently - is still unbeaten in the gadget arena. I just bought an S6 Edge and the only thing that I mourn is the monetary loss that I'll be facing in just a few months from now. I knew what I was getting into though, so I'm not decrying my losses. :D

It's reduced by $15 or by $25 depending on how much data is on the plan, and that only applies to the current plans essentially.

Correct. I believe if your plan is a 10GB or higher Mobile Share Value plan then you get the $25 line discount. I was merely bringing this up because OP said that AT&T doesn't discount off-contract users when, in fact, they do.

Sure, there's certainly that. Unless the plan that is involved is one of the older plans, in which case those discounts don't apply to it.

Your joking right? How can you rip your friend off like that?
Is your friend really going to pay that, if he finds out youve done that he will mo longer be your friend

No my friend does not have a mental disability. My friend was the one who mentioned the price when I brought up selling. Since the 2015 edition iPhone most likely not fit my current cases I offered everything. It is the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus Verizon with two spiegen cases, three Apple 6 Plus cases as well as two unopened glass screen protector. My friend also has an Apple watch and was interested in my white sports band, Milanese Loop and Stainless Steel Link Bracelet. Roughly around the $1,200. Since we both recently graduated college I also got him a job as a junior rep at an insurance company I work for.

So...basically it wasn't quite as what you described earlier.

A month or so ago when I sold my 6+ to Gazelle, they were giving $430 for a "good" condition. Right now it's dropped to $355. The prices are coming down quickly, not a good time to sell.

Have fun with that 10% fee and who knows what kind of person you're selling to. Scammers are rampant on fleabay!

LOL, Gazelle is the worst rip off of all! I always wondered who actually used them, now I know. LOL!

iPhones hold better value than Samsung's and HTC's in my experience. I lost sometimes 60% of their value by the end of my contract but that is perhaps right as the phone is well used by that point. My iPhone 5 cost £230 as an upgrade fee originally and I think I sold it for £259 after 2 years. It covered my upgrade fee for the iPhone 6 so I was more than happy with that. It also enabled me to buy a good case with the change. :)

I purchased a full priced, unlocked iPhone 6+ from Apple this past February. I had heard for years that it made more sense to buy full price and go off contract with carriers because you could always resell iPhones for close to what you bought them for. Unfortunately, Gazelle, eBay and Craigslist seem to be pricing my phone from $500 to $600 when i paid $850 for it. I plan on buying the 6S or 6S+ next week, so I will really just be funding my upgrade. In addition, AT&T doesn't have discounted plans for off contract users. I may even just do AT&T Next.

my facebook friend said i have so many strong opinions , i should start a youtube channel

heres a thought

if you bought the full priced iPhone 6 + from the apple store, and it was a sim free unit, an argument could be made that you never have to buy another cell phone for a long as you live, so therefor you saved $850 by not having to buy a new phone if you felt like switching carriers.

Honestly don't always go by what you see on Craigslist or eBay.
Actually eBay is the best indicator of a used product's value in my opinion. The market sets the prices, not the seller.

OP, ask yourself a question. Would you personally pay more than $600 for a used phone?

If you are getting $500-600 then you have done well. It's crazy to think that you'll recoup 80 or 90% of the original cost one year later.
The fact is that the market is flooded with Apple products and that has driven the values down.

That's because their performance drops off over time and are lucky to be updated after a year from release. Apple devices hold their value because these are not things people with iPhones worry about.

they need to categorize "sim free" separately then "unlocked" units, i feel if they did that, the "sim free" might be worth more

the person said that eBay wan't always the best place to see what iPhones are selling for because the sellers are setting the prices.

what you do is you go to eBay
you tell eBay i am looking for a "iphone 6 plus 128 gb unlocked"

scroll down on the left side select new or used, depending on your preference

click on "sold listings"

the people didn't mention "sold listings" i think thats the best indicator on eBay to tell you how much current iPhones are going for.

"sold" listings will tell you how much the buyer actually paid for the phone

i don't like eBay , i don't like the 12.5 % hit for seller fees and paypal fees and then the paypal hold that i have to put up with.

where did you get that price from?? the full price of an iPhone 6 plus 128 gig is only $949 even with Ca sales tits its 1032
i wouldn't want to be your friend anymore. maybe that was a launch day deal. when they were not in short suppy. and not a recent trasaction

are you steve jobs???? you remind me of that story where steve jobs lied to Woz about how much money he got from breakout and he spent it on himself

your 15 % markup is too small. you should be like 7-eleven and up it to 30 %

In your first post you claim to generally get $100-200profit. In your second post you're not.

You said you get a minimum of $100 profit 90% of the time whenever you sell a product. So, which of the above is actually true? These two posts are highly contradicting and one of them sounds like a fabrication to me.

You are one horrible friend, hope I never meet someone like you
