I know, how hard did it suck.. it still sucks... I've heard it said here before. Throw enough crap at the wall and hopefully something will stick.

Disagree. Nothing wrong with the one I had. Software updates made it kick ass. Unless you wore and lived it don't bother commenting ;)

I guess I don't plan on using the watch to make phone calls - I have a phone for that!!

I see the watch as being extremely useful so I don't miss calls/texts when my phone is in my purse (which happens to me a lot!) But I imagine call quality won't be as good as the phone... so using the phone will be better choice.

An on-watch dialer would be handy for the same reason you might want to take a call on the watch. Because it's more convenient at times.

For instance, I often am laying down watching TV, when a call comes in while my phone is in another room. It's incredibly handy to be able to take it right now on a watch, without having to get up.

The same convenience factor works in reverse. What if you need to call a number someone just texted you? Or heck, what if you need to call 911 for help immediately, and you can't speak well enough to get Siri to work?

Your 2 instances are easy to solve. If someone texts you a number, you can click it in the text to call (I just tested this)

To call 911 - add it to your contacts so that it is always handy.

I think a number people could have been put in, since there is a number pad for the passcode. Although I don't know of any situation where I would prefer to enter it on my watch rather than my phone.

So I just made this dialer, unfortunately the API will not let it initiate the call. It will only let it initiate the call on iPhone with the app open which makes it useless.

Ah well.. Maybe in future versions of Xcode.

yea so far i've been using siri, and contacts wheel you have to add one friend at a time and i believe there is a limit too, wonder why we can't just see all contacts

you can see all your contacts in the phone app on the watch

Damn. I know people have different aesthetic taste but still..

How can someone wear THAT?

1. Because the watch was free
2. Because the service sim inside my gear s is also free
3. It's not that bad,the guy helping me with my Apple watch appointment asked to try mine on and was very excited. I don't care for it much but it's all around free for me. My job pays every cent involved in me using it so why not?

Samsung copies the Apple look and turns it into a watch. Meanwhile Apple goes a completely different direction. Wonder how long it will take for Samsung to copy.

Samsung started copying the Watch as soon as the first official pictures went public. A Samsung "design" team of two guys were tracing it over on their iPads. #
