... but the screen is supposed to be yellowish. its easier on the eyes than a pure white screen

Maybe they had to do this (go yellow) so that people wouldn't be blinded by the miles and miles of white they introduced in iOS 7...

I think its mainlly iOS7 fault. Having said that, the phone has great display, perhaps your unit is defective?

I agree, disappointment to say the least!!

Okay, so here is my story about the rattling noise. I have been told the same thing by numerous Apple employees, both Genius Bar and Apple care, that the noise is either caused by the loose home or volume buttons or camera lens, like stated by Statheesh. However, my whole problem that if any other electronic device that you own had a similar rattling noise, would you not try to have it remedied? That is exactly what I did.

I started out by buying my iPhone 5s on the first day it was released, being the loyal iPhone customer. However, about a month later I get a message from Apple that I need to turn my phone in for a recall. Note that I did not want to turn my phone in, but I was told that if I did not by a certain date (about a month, I believe) that my warranty would be terminated. Now, understand this, when I took my phone in, I did not get it replaced with a new iPhone, I got a "service" phone, which is Apple's way of saying "refurbished." So, I was stuck with a REFURBISHED phone a month after I had paid for a BRAND NEW phone.

Now, about six months later the rattling noise occurs. I checked my friend's iPhone 5, and his did NOT rattle at all, and he has had it for over year and a half. That caused me to take my iPhone 5s into the Genius Bar. Three replacements later, and the current refurbished iPhone that I have is the worst one yet. It rattled straight from the get go.

That caused me to call Apple Care. Four phone calls and a week later, and they tell me that because I the noise is not detrimental to the operation of the phone, that I CANNOT get a new iPhone 5s, in the shrink-wrapped white box with a new charger and headphones, which is what I wanted when the recalled my phone in the first place. So, Apple does NOT WANT to give me a new phone, even though they say the "can't." I have been a loyal iPhone customer since the 3GS, and this will be my last iPhone. I had to get my old iPhone 5 replaced because of the horrible home button issue, and now I am on my 4th iPhone 5s. The quality has really dropped off since the death of Steve Jobs, and my next phone will probably be the Samsung Galaxy 5s. Believe me, I do not want to leave the iPhone line, since everything I have is geared towards them, such as iTunes, all my purchases. But my frustration is to the end of the limit.

If you read all this, I thank you, and this is my first time ever posting on the internet. However, this has to stop. If this can sway one person away from Apple products, I will be satisfied. APPLE IS HORRIBLE!!! I know I will probably get tons of replies to quit my bellyaching, and that is fine. However, I believe that when you pay $400 for a cell phone you should get your money's worth, and I feel I have not. Again, thank you for your time.

I agree with the quality control on the 5/5S iPhones. My old i4 (which my father now uses) is over three years old and there is no rattle, nor are any of the buttons loose. It is physically exactly the same as the day it was purchased.

The i5 though...

I returned the first five that my carrier sent me. Four had loose volume buttons, three of those also had a loose power button, and the fifth had a faulty home button. The sixth one I received also had loose volume buttons (when I say loose, they move left/right when you lightly touch them and they rattle when you shake the phone or put it down onto a surface), but my carrier said they would send no more. I either accepted this one, or I gave up. Due to the previous five being faulty I kinda assumed that most (if not all) iPhone 5 devices had this poor workmanship, so I accepted the phone. This was mainly due to being locked into the Apple ecosystem.

Anyway, I'm still not happy with the loose volume buttons (from day one) and a few months later the power button also became loose. It is shoddy build quality and I expect FAR more from Apple. Their devices are sold at a premium and loose buttons make things feel cheap. Whilst I realise that some people get lucky, there are an awful lot of iPhones out there with loose buttons and it absolutely makes me think less of my phone. Sure it still works, but the build issues are frustrating.

@time I feel your angst, you have not been treated correctly. To take a phone and send you down a path of many replacements is not right.

I'm happy with my 5s, it's tight and no rattles, as I can tell.

As far as the quality of the previous generation the 4 and 4s, I see them the as being the same as the 5/5s. In the family, replacements due to non working mics, screen failures, home button failures, blown speakers, failed headphone jacks; but no rattles.

Even through all that, I suggest for you to stay with Apple. Atleast Apple does in store replacement. With Samsung, you have to have your carrier send you used replacement. Trust me, it's even worse... I know you will be even more displeased with the other companies options.
