Yes, I have. And mostly without issues. I did have some credits errors, and reported them to Apple. They replied and investigated quite extensively.
Some of them seemed to be caused by bugs in Samba. Have you tried with the newest versions?
Thanks for the followup! I tried with the latest 4.8. That gave those credit errors under 10.13.6, but I just finished an initial backup under 10.14.1 in one go, so it seems Apple may have fixed something.

I just ordered this to replace my apple AirPort Extreme

trying to reach a design goal of absolute minimalism and finally nothingness.
Yes, this is very sad for those of us who went on the glorious ride with Apple from the days before OS X when the OS was unusable. I remember the first day Public Beta came out. I spent a week going through everything and realized that Apple had the foundation to become the largest company in the world. I was so happy to have one machine that could do everything. The Mac was amazing, and then Steve Jobs' health started to decline.

With him gone and Jonny Ives in charge of both hardware and software after they forced Scott Forstall out, it has become an almost unusable product line for creative professionals, which is a real shame because there is yet to be an alternative. Windows is just not viable (like OS 9 used to be), and Linux is still not supported by professional software developers.

As far as the Airport/TimeCapsule, Apple was not a router manufacturer. They were out of their wheelhouse, so I can see why they dropped that product line. There were always better solutions available for a lot less money. This move makes sense to me.

But, every time we turn around, they are removing something from the OS or the hardware that made us productive and happy. Like key commands just arbitrarily disappearing for no real reason. (I'm thinking of things like Cmd+1, 2, 3, & 4 to change views in the Finder. There is just no reason for those to be gone.) Ives is an insane minimalist, and Jobs used to combine people with opposing philosophies just so they could meet in the middle and make the best product for the consumer. Now, it's minimalism and profiteering run amok. It seems that they don't care at all about the consumer anymore. Apple still provides the best value, but you don't see people lined up across the malls all over the country when new products are released. Instead, we bury our heads in our hands and grieve the loss of important things like, say, the headphone jack on the iPhone. I'm sorry. Bluetooth audio sucks.

They got to be the biggest company in the world by not trying to be the biggest company in the world. Jobs was not driven by earnings. He was driven by greatness. Insanely great. Now it's insanely gone.

For those looking at other options I studied and went with the AmpliFi, it’s superior to the Apple AirPort Extreme in many ways.
