Yeah. 42/44mm’s “default” size is M/L, and 38/40mm’s “default” size is S/M. It’s why you only find the “Assembled in China” text on 42mm M/L and 38mm S/M.

That would, at least in my mind, make them authentic. Technically unreleased, but still authentic. I can confirm they come from the same factories, likely as scrapped pieces. Interestingly, the lug shape on mine is consistent with 42mm bands, while the pin half is 44mm. So they’re likely pre-release marketing prototypes.
Yes, I have a 42mm Hermes set listed right now with all three pieces. The S/M strap was ordered from Chargerstore separate from the M/L and pin straps that came with the watch.

How much are you listing it for? I’m wondering how much a full set would go for in the US.

Hmmm @satchmo idk, search search search. I got mine slightly after they came out, when people were past their return periods and selling them secondhand. I think it probably wasn’t super popular, may take some time. Best of luck. Finding a seafoam, which was released at the same time, was super tough as people would put them up for sale from time to time, but for SO much money. I’d keep my eyes on eBay.

I literally just sold a Seafoam on Mercari this morning! I was sad to see it go, as it's the only one I've seen come up for sale in quite some time.

found this on ebay: little pricey for a sealed 38/40 Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue approx 118.07 usd obo

Chargerstore has them new without box for $60 (wow!) if you don’t mind the wait.

That works too! I’m surprised, they’re cheaper than i thought. I guess it has a lower demand since it’s 38/40mm

Correct. Across all generations of Hermès watches, not a single one came with a S/M. At least, it wasn’t supposed to.

The weird part is, there was someone on r/ABM who claimed they bought a S/M piece at a boutique. I sincerely doubt they were telling the truth, because I don’t think S/M pieces were ever officially distributed by either Apple or Hermès.

Watching unboxing videos says otherwise. The Titanium inserts are a trifold, which has extra space for the M/L piece. The Hermès inserts, however, are a bifold design. Just enough room for some text and the M/L piece. There hasn’t been, isn’t, and probably never will be an included S/M.

Chargerstore is, probably, the only place you can get authentic S/M pieces. There’s also a second seller on there who seems to have them, but I’m convinced they’re just reselling Chargerstore’s bands.

I didn't know those existed!... just ordered one.

Ah yes that is my point. The included band for the Ti watches says it comes only in M/L for 44mm and S/M for 40mm. But, we know from people on this forum who have actually bought the Ti watch that it includes both the S/M and M/L pieces for the standard included sport band regardless of which case size you pick. Apple’s site is simply wrong in this area (and has been since the S5). What I am wondering is whether this is also the case with the Hermès models. Can’t say since I have never bought one!
I stand corrected, then. Oh well, if we can't even trust the Apple site any more 😂

Turns out it IS right for the Hermès models, just not the titanium. Very weird! The edition models are so niche that I bet someone at Apple copied the description from the Hermès modes and never gave it another thought.

What is the blackest band? Is it the discontinued gen1 sport band and loop? Newer ones looks a touch lighter

Oh this is perfect. I need to find the model number so I can search for it on the ebay. Thank you!
it technically doesn’t have one since it was exclusive to Hermès watches in M/L length only. It’s probably the rarest band to find besides Light Bone/Black (and even that’s easier, maybe.)

No problem! I actually talked about this band on the every apple watch band subforum. Apparently there’s 2 serial numbers for gen 1 Black SBs

Anyways, good luck! There’s an abundant number of these bands for sale.

Edit: as mike said above, yes the Hermès black SB are kinda hard to find and more expensive.

I've always been curious about Light Bone/Black... (Not that I'd ever find one), but what is the story/history of this band? What is "Nike Lab"?
