Amazon still has both the band and loop in stock. Prices $47-$50 so not much of a discount. But, the bands are also discontinued so you’re probably looking at eBay prices once Amazon clears out stock.
Best Buy also has the band in 40mm and the loop in both sizes. All full price.

I get you’re joking on the “only” part but I paid $127 for my Pride collection, ~$147 after I find my budget 2019 loop. Just to offer an idea on price range.

Yes, just look at any picture of the new 44mm braided loops on the 44mm watches!
I've tried it with my wife's as an experiment. The band itself is also narrower which doesn't look bad in absolute terms, but looked wrong to me as I'm used to seeing the wider band. I've never worn it like that.
Some of the bands in the "60+ sport bands..." thread I started are 38/40 in a 44mm Watch. Rose Red is one, and the pinks she had at that time will be smaller size as well as Black/White Nike and the pink/white Nike I have presently forgotten the name of.
