Gouging? Did you miss the part about how their streaming business is losing money? I believe the only streaming service that's profitable at the moment is Netflix.

The price increases are meant to put them in the black.
Nope, didn't miss that part at all. But their actual costs haven't gone up - if we weren't in the middle of a global inflation cycle, they would NOT be taking advantage by raising prices again, but would just accept the loss as they have done in the past 🤷‍♂️

I'm seeing this all over, by the way: companies that are raking in money hand over fist (oil companies come to mind) who continue to raise prices and BRAG about how consumers will accept the increases :(

I switched from YouTubeTV and Disney+ to Hulu + Live TV for some time now. In additional, AMEX offers $7 monthly statement credit along with 6% streaming subscription cash back.

The Hulu + Live TV goes up to $76.99 (from $69.99/month).

My son regularly travels, to different cities and countries, and he has no issues using our family account.
If he's not an "extra member" under Netflix please tell me how you lucked out. My husband is in Houston and when it rolled out, he was flagged and we had to add him as an extra member for $8/mo

All of these price hikes and crackdowns but still waiting for them to add any value to their services. That is unlikely to happen soon seeing how all of the strikes are going.
What is your bank account number?
You won’t have any problem with me taking all of your paycheck each week right? I mean you expect everyone at Disney to work for free so I assume you will do so as well right?!

Ridiculous! Already cancelled Netflix and Spotify due to price hikes. Nothing justifies these increases but corporate greed! It’s not like any of that money goes to the workers or actors anyway.
That's a silly justification for cancelling. Corporations are designed to make money over all other considerations. You knew that going into it. And of course workers and actors get paid indirectly from the streaming revenues collected. You are only making their livings harder to earn by cancelling. Cancel every service you like but don't expect to be congratulated for a purely selfish act.

I mean I regularly get an email from Netflix with "New sign-in from x". I can usually tell it's him logging into a TV at a hotel or Airbnb wherever he is in the world. But never been blocked and he is not an extra member.

Streaming services really do have a tendency to forget that their entire business model relies on them being slightly less annoying than going with the $0-per-month Jack Sparrow bundle, huh? 🏴‍☠️
If you cannot afford $13.99 a month for a streaming service - perhaps you need to rethink your life and get a job that pays better.
Password Sharing Crackdown: For some reason, I feel like this is Netflix's fault and I hate them for that.
You hate Netflix because they are going after THIEVES stealing their service?

Remind me, what is your address - I’m going to come and break in to your place and help myself to whatever you own and give you NOTHING for it!

I never understood the incredible talent these companies have in having millions of customers paying every month and still managing to lose money.

Same deal with Goldman Sachs and Apple Card. Transaction fees have gone up so much that we have merchants now charging fees to use credit cards, and they still claim to be losing money.

I don't buy it for a minute. I suspect the C-level folks just want to line their pockets more.
