You think it's Netflix's fault that other companies don't want people stealing from them? Maybe they just don't want people stealing.
Absolutely — no reason to keep any streaming service month after month.no real surprises here ...
I had Disney for a month, watched everything I wanted to and then cancelled ... as others have said, this is going to become more common going forward ...
Thats's a very good point as I think people prefer to have multiple streaming services and just pick one for the month to watch shows in their entirety, then switch to another as needed. Apple makes it just so easy to subscribe and unsubscribe with this scenario. That's until only yearly subs are offered to quash this behaviour.I predict streaming services will collectively switch to yearly-only subscriptions soon enough, at least for the ad-free option.
If they did that I'd probably rather just rent the season of the show I want. But that amounts to $100+ yr for each service. Not sure people would want to stomach that for multiple services.Thats's a very good point as I think people prefer to have multiple streaming services and just pick one for the month to watch shows in their entirety, then switch to another as needed. It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if pays off for 'em.I love it, they loose money and produce crap content and turn around and raise prices. AND nothing for the writers/ actors. #Coporategreed
A price increase isn't justified by a $512 million loss?Nothing justifies these increases but corporate greed! It’s not like any of that money goes to the workers or actors anyway.
Check up on your history. For many years (until recently), Netflix suggested and encouraged password sharing. It was touted as a feature of their service. You're perception that it's "stealing" doesn't fit with Netflix's own promotion of it.You think it's Netflix's fault that other companies don't want people stealing from them? Disney has raised Disney Plus price every year so far starting in 2021. Same with Hulu.
Disney Plus no ads
Nov 2019 = $6.99 launch price
Mar 2021 = $7.99
Dec 2022 = $10.99
Oct 2023 = $13.99
Hulu no ads
Sep 2015 = $11.99 launch price
Oct 2021 = $12.99
Oct 2022 = $14.99
Oct 2023 = $17.99
Hope this isn't going to be an annual thing.
This is just gouging; i.e., taking advantage of inflation on products sensitive to supply chain costs, etc., to increase their prices when there's NOTHING in the cost basis for streaming services that has actually increased in cost!
Thats absurd its just greed I ditched all those Spotify Netflix and today and today Disney and went with a jail broken Apple TV and won't look back.
I just wished their free content wasn't mostly limited to the first Series only, then having to pay. Also quite a limited selection still.I will stick with AppleTV+. At least it's free for device purchase, with new original contents weekly, instead of rewatching Star Wars for 56th time.
Hope this isn't going to be an annual thing.
Pretty much the same with us. We did the 3-year special that worked out to something like $1.67/month, figuring we'd give it a shot. Shortly after it ended, we cancelled, then re-upped for a bit, then eventually cancelled again.I was an early adopter of Disney+ with their 3 year plan offering. After that, I got off the ride. Too much for my liking.
I was annoyed for an hour but then got over it after remembering that candy bars used to be 5 cents, but nobody complains today that they are $1.50. It's normal for prices to go up a small amount year by year. It's still a great value.Wait - did some of y'all really cancel Spotify because of a $1 increase?
I know this thread is about Disney but saying you canceled Spotify because of a $1 increase feels like typical comments section lies.
$10.99 for essentially all of the world's recorded music is a STEAL
All of these price hikes and crackdowns but still waiting for them to add any value to their services. That is unlikely to happen soon seeing how all of the strikes are going.
