I really like HBO Max content, but until they resolve their dispute with Roku, their uptake is going to suck.
I guess but I don't see much of a barrier for any HBO subscribers. You can get cheap streaming hardware from many providers for less than $100 that supports HBO Max. Roku hardly seems like an excuse not to enjoy your favorite shows.

Everyone used to be like Disney openly. Now most people just hide it

So you're a shareholder. Otherwise why would you care more about subs than actual content?

this whole thread is quite literally called „Disney Plus adds X million subscribers“ and not „Disney Plus adds more content“ so that is all that I was replying to. No word from me about who’s content is better or not.

It is logical they have such a large following, the thing is full of content. The only thing they should consider is dropping the pointless 'original' rubbish and putting out more of the back catalog. They must be wasting millions on the Star Wars show that could be put into something better.

Going by their Star Wars and Marvel announcements late yesterday, I wouldn’t be surprised if the number of subscribers grows dramatically over the next year.

(I am trying to hold out until the four series I am very interested in are launched)...

Subscribed when it rolled out for a year to get the new Marvel content. It’s been a year and little to no new content. Almost feel like they need to refund their customers not increase.
Hoping 2021 is better with the recent announcements.
Im sure COVID also had a play in release dates.
Disney should wait another year till they have given new content before raising pricing.

Just go right now and uninstall that trash youtube kids from your phones and devices... Problem solved.. Mine was watching all manner of crap and then along with the ad's is scary..

me and my wife have just been having that chat! Some of its okay but even coming up to Christmas it sets unrealistic expectations for kids as some of these you tube kids are just spoiled! I know its free from sponsors etc but still

Why? When Netflix started at around the same price it took them over a year to have new original content at all. The movie streaming catalogue was horrible back then as well and that's why it was still bundled with the DVD shipping. Never thought about a refund at all. You really shouldn't subscribe to a streaming service for original content anyway. I bought Disney because of the catalogue that was already there and to me, that's worth the money. The new shows are just pudding on the cake. This is also why Apple TV+ isn't breaking through as much, they have no back catalogue that has value. Well other than Snoopy and Charlie Brown now and we already saw how well that worked. It's hard to justify subscribing when everything is new and not already established programing. I will even admit, I subscribed to Apple TV+ for a month just for Ted Lasso but just that and the other stuff on there was not of value to pay a Sub for because I could literally watch everything Apple has there within a month and then have nothing to watch otherwise because they have no back catalogue to search through to find something interesting to watch unlike EVERY OTHER streaming platform out there that has years of content to watch.
