I would hope so. Disney's been producing content for almost 100 years.Don't know how much Disney+ cost but I have the impression it has a much bigger quality catalog than Netflix.
Netflix starting producing their own content in 2013.

Completely agree. The only thing it’s good for is entertaining kids.Apple simply doesn't have enough content yet to justify a subscription. They're making gradual progress, but so far don't have a "must see" series. They've acquired a few movies, but again that's not enough content. Like other media companies, if they wanted a lot of subscribers in a hurry, they'd need to purchase a popular studio's catalogue. But I don't think that's their aim.
I’d say a very different cataloge than Netflix. Netflix has way more general content for adults. Disney Has tons stuff for younger viewers and stuff for us codgers that like the marvel movies, Star Wars, etc. I’d say they don’t directly compete much, but compliment each other.Don't know how much Disney+ cost but I have the impression it has a much bigger quality catalog than Netflix.
Which explains why Disney+ makes sense. A show like WandaVision would never have been greenlighted as a movie because it isn't chock full of CGI fight scenes or boast a star-studded cast, but all reports point to it being crucial for setting up the next phase of Marvel movies (multiverse, x-men, fantastic 4 etc). So people will still watch it because they are already subscribed to Disney+. It's ideal for their risker titles which aren't assured of being cinema blockbusters. The Mandalorian was awesome however Wanda Vision stunk big time. But Winter Soilder is finally coming out soon it should wash the stink that is Wanda Vision.
You mean like WandaVison, which is getting rave reviews?Same, I'm surprised by how many people love Disney+ over Netflix. But maybe that will change as they create more shows. Apparently Disney+ is doing 3 spin-off series' from the Mandalorian.
Mandalorian is an overhyped fan service vehicle full of unnecessary monsters and even more ridiculous imperials than the original trilogy. It wasn't worth the electricity I used watching it.Once I had finished The Mandalorian, which was nowhere near as good as I had heard, I couldn't find anything else to watch. So I cancelled.

WandaVision isn't even done yet. There are 3 more episodes left, so saying it stunk is a little premature. Now, if it was done I would say that's fair. I am not all in on WandaVision and don't think it is as good as other Marvel properties, but it isn't bad either. The first few episodes did not grab me in the way it seems to have grabbed others, but once we hit episode 4 I was feeling like it was Marvel again and I am digging it for the setup it is doing for Phase 4.The Mandalorian was awesome however Wanda Vision stunk big time. But, doesn't the pandemic really help every streaming service?Im guessing the pandemic also helped Disney with those subscriber numbers. Especially in the U.K. They launched just as the lockdown started last March...
Are you talking about Apple TV+ or Disney+?How many are actually paying though?
Did you reach out to Apple for this, or did they do it proactively? I just started an Apple One subscription and was wondering if I'd get a credit.I paid through Apple One subscription and then apple gave me a credit for Apple TV+ recently.
Thank you. That, "…they only have 'The Mandalorian'…" argument is getting so tired now.If that were true, Disney+ would see a big drop in subscriber numbers after the season ends. But that's not the case. Disney+ has grown subscribers each quarter.
Disney Plus subscribers per quarter:
As of Dec. 28, 2019 : 26.5 million
As of Mar. 28, 2020 : 33.5 million
As of Jun. 27, 2020 : 57.5 million
As of Oct. 3, 2020 : 73.7 million
As of Jan. 2, 2021 : 94.9 million
You are completely underestimating the number of parents who are paying for access to practically all of the Disney movies and TV shows. While this is certainly good news, the truth is that 94.0 million are just joining to watch The Mandalorian.
