The Mandalorian was awesome however Wanda Vision stunk big time. But Winter Soilder is finally coming out soon it should wash the stink that is Wanda Vision.
The first two episodes were definitely weird, but it's starting to finally build some legs with my family. I'm reserving judgement to see how it sets up the phase 4 movies.

Not sure what your expectation was, but the Star Wars lore outside of the original trilogy is pretty deep. Check out Clone Wars or Rebels if you have patience and interest.
I've watched Clone Wars on and off. That was good. The Mandalorian is only successful because it is comared to the new trilogy. I liked the first few episode, but it quickly became repetitive. Hopefully Ashoka will eclipse it soon.

I really don't think that is the case, though. I think that it is a great series that works with what it has and makes it fun. Is it the best Star wars related property? Nah, but for what it is it is good. To be fair, different strokes for different folks. I am sure that other things on Disney+ may eventually be up your alley, but there is of course nothing wrong with not being interested in what they have for now. I think that is part of what makes Disney+ interesting: it appeals to a huge demographic of people. Those who like Star Wars, Marvel, classic Disney Princesses, class Disney movies, National Geographic stuff, Pixar, etc.

Disney reminds me off Spotify who raised the monthly subscription to 10,99 a month, and even after raising it to 10,99 they're still losing money every month. Just add 4.00 more and you can enjoy Deezer HiFi with loseless quality instead of Spotifys mp3 quality.

This is mindblowing how Spotify manages to lose money every month.

AppleTV+ is confusing. I got the free trial when I bought an iPhone 12 and finding shows to watch has been challenging. I'll find something that looks interesting and it says I need to rent or buy it. I don't see why there isn't an option to just see what you can actually watch with the subscription without renting or buying.

biggest issue with the app that is more like a store than a service.

You mean like WandaVison, which is getting rave reviews?
Or Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which has gotten more buzz than most tentpole big budget box office films in the last few years?
Oh yeah, it’s an entertainment wasteland to be sure. 🙄
I don't think you understood what I had meant by my comment, as I did not claim that "it’s an entertainment wasteland". Although looking back I did a poor job of wording my comment. There isn't much content on Disney+ that interests me, and that's ok, people are allowed to have different tastes. A lot of people evidently love Marvel content, which Disney+ capitalizes on. That's great, but I'm not interested. Different strokes for different blokes.

The first two episodes really hit home on the nostalgia for me. I remember as a kid watching all the Dick Van Dyke, Laverne and Shirley and Mary Tyler Moore type shows when I got home from school. All reruns on syndication, but still. Add to that the dark undertone and I was hooked immediately! If the upcoming Marvel shows are even remotely as interesting, Disney+ is going to rock it (and that doesn't even include all the upcoming Star Wars stuff, too).

Thank you. That, "…they only have 'The Mandalorian'…" argument is getting so tired now.
I mean, thats really it besides Wanda which will be over in a few weeks.

Growth is easy when they give it away to new Verizon subscribers.

There are 11 more Marvel shows and 10 more Star Wars shows coming. Somehow I think Disney+ will do just fine.

Falcon and Winter Soldier starts just two weeks after WV ends and then immediately after that another show. I imagine Marvel fans will be sticking around.

And then outside of the US, they will have Star in a few weeks which includes all the Fox and mature content they couldnt release on Disney+. Yes, the streaming service is global and not just US.

So that is that why Apple Music so popular? Verizon includes both in their programs.

You are completely underestimating the number of parents who are paying for access to practically all of the Disney movies and TV shows.

No, I was just trying to be funny and emphasize how much I enjoy The Mandalorian.

Disney has been making movies and TV Shows for a very long time for people of all ages and has a lot of great content. Their subscriber numbers don’t surprise me in the least.

It is highly likely that anyone will ever like everything a media company puts out.

While I often joke about how Snoopy is the only thing worth watching on AppleTV+ (they really need a new name), Apple has made some really good shows in a short amount of time. They just don’t have a large enough catalog in AppleTV+ to justify a subscription price.

Now if they could some how include a huge chunk of their iTunes movie and TV show catalog in the subscription, I think that would be a game changer.

That may be responsible for a local push I guess but in the same fashion I’m sure other carriers bundle in Spotify as well.

A show like WandaVision would never have been greenlighted as a movie because it isn't chock full of CGI fight scenes or boast a star-studded cast, but all reports point to it being crucial for setting up the next phase of Marvel movies (multiverse, x-men, fantastic 4 etc).

We tried watching WandaVision but we couldn’t make it through the first episod. Is there something we missed. Was there a backstory to the characters r another show/movie we missed that would provide context?

Spoilers ahead...

I am not entirely sure, as I don’t have Disney+ in my country yet. I am currently watching episode analysis by Emergency Awesome on youtube for breakdowns on each episode and what they mean for the overarching plot.

The show supposedly takes place shortly after the events of Endgame, and the idea seems to be that Scarlet Witch, distraught by Vision’s death, creates an alternate reality of her own using her powers (which is basically a small bubble a few miles in radius), and she is able to make everything appear as she wishes and compel people inside to act as she desires. Supposedly, this takes a toll on her sanity as the episodes progresses, and will eventually introduce mutants and x-men and the concept of the multiverse into the marvel universe somehow.

There’s also a crazy guest appearance by a certain Fox X-men character in ep 6 as well.

It will supposedly pay off in the next Spider-Man and doctor strange movies (Tobey Mcguire and Andrew Garfield are rumoured to cameo as past versions of spidermen, while Scarlet Witch will also star in the Doctor Strange movie.

It’s also supposedly a homage to various sitcoms throughout the decades, but I suppose if I need somebody to explain the show to me, the producers are probably not doing a very good job of it.

Think of the first two (or two and half) shows as setup. Like the first hour of a movie. It is also meant to be a homage to television of years past. By episode 4, the ton and visual of the show changes dramatically.

Like practically anything else in the MCU, a lot will depend on how much you enjoy the characters and universe. If you are an MCU fan, you will enjoy where it is going. If not, yea, this show may not be for you.

That would be great for us but bad for Apple unfortunately. If Apple really cared about us, they would definitely not hesitate to throw money to build an amalgamation of content for us

Might want to edit your post for spoilers. But hey I needed Game of Thrones explained to me, but that was part of the fun reading about it.
