Which Disney? Disneyland or Disney World? When I was 7 yrs old I had the best time at Disney world down in Florida.
I haven't been to one either. Not too terribly disappointed though, I was never much a Disney kid growing up. I remember seeing the the films; that was about the extent of my fascination.
Depends on where. In California, Disneyland was okay, but Universal Studios sucked. However, in Florida, Disney World was awesome, but Universal Studios was awesome-er.
I have really fond memories of Disneyland as a kid, so Disneyland will always be my favorite amusement park. Sure, the rides aren't the most thrilling, but there's just something special about it nonetheless. They may not be the fastest, and they may not go upside down, but I think Disney rides provide the most "experience" of anywhere I've been. And if I want more speed, I go on an airplane.
Disney for younger kids. Universal for older kids. Both are fun and cool but it's gotten really expensive too. Good luck
Disney if I'm with my family. They're not really adrenaline junkies anyways. Unversal if I'm with my friends.
Yeah, Islands of Adventure is also great as well. Also, as far as Universal Studios Hollywood, they have Transformers: The Ride opening up, so that should boost the experience at least somewhat (it looks like a great ride from what I've seen in Singapore).
I've spent a good amount of time in the Florida parks, and plan to go again this year If I had to just pick one, then I would say Universal. Only because Islands of Adventure was pure fun, easily one of the best theme parks I've been to. The rides were awesome. Universal Studios was OK, but on the whole it just felt dated. I think we'll be sticking to Islands of Adventure only this time. Disney has it beat on variation and quality though. Fewer thrills, but with each park they focus on the experience. Kids will LOVE the Magic Kingdom, Disney have created the perfect park for their fans. Epcot and Animal Kingdom are both great for quieter days, and if you have a ticket allowing you entry into whichever park you want then they are a must. The World Showcase at Epcot in particular is interesting, but there is less for kids to do. MGM is definitely worth a visit if only for the Aerosmith ride and the end of day performance which blows the other parks fireworks away. If your down there though, don't forget to give Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay a look. It's a bit of a drive away, but damn their rides are impressive.
Disney(World) - it's not just about the parks when you go but the experience. The hotels on property are fantastic, along with the golf courses, dining options, and overall guest experience. If you're looking to ride a few fast roller coasters, then by all means go to Universal. If you're looking for a well rounded experience at any age (Epcot is great for adults - try drinking around the world), then choose Disney(World) My 2 cents.
Both Islands of Adventure and Universal are great (I don't like one better than the other). I wonder what they will build in place of the Jaws ride...rumors point to more Harry Potter, but I honestly doubt that. I could see Transformers: The Ride coming to Orlando though.
