Somehow Netflix never blocked me using an Apple TV, hope it will be the same with D+, otherwise I’ll just cancel it. I hardly use it and only have it cuz my parents pay for it lol (it’s part of their internet deal with Telekom)

I cancelled Hulu, HBO Max and soon Prime (I have had it for over 12 years).

You can’t complain yet be part of the problem.

It’s cheaper to have a Nord VPN subscription + Soap dot 🤫

Sure…they start cracking because of those handful want to add a couple billions to their bank account…cough, no, portfolio. I don’t know who says it but good service will attract people to pay for it. Iron fist doesn’t always work, and discontent people can cause more chaos than those CxO would imagine, in an unpredictable way too.

Count me one of those who loves classic Disney. In fact, my early English skill was pretty much taught by classic Disney cartoons. Disney+? I’d buy the movie I am interested over another subscription service.

Everyone here seems to hating Netflix and disney+ but they keep getting more and more subscribers. I’m pretty sure most people that read these forums know several ways to access Netflix and all the + services films and tv shows without paying but obviously a lot of people are paying. It’s a convenience factor too. I share my accounts with family… my brother, his wife, 2 kids live next door and my sister, her bf, and my mom live in the other next door, 3 houses next to each other and with mesh routers we share one internet bill too. Except I’m moving to Orlando in a few months so they can pay for all that soon now that we sold the family business.

More like Disney Minus.

Why don’t they focus on making new shows in 2024? Not one new Star Wars series that is not a cartoon. Nothing worth watching. I get cracking down, but at least produce quality new content that comes out regularly. Give credit to AppleTV+, as they have a new show every week that has known actors.

While Netflix, Disney, HBO and the likes squeeze their customers, the ancient art of torrenting is reborn and left to flourish. There'll be a new generation of kids that are experts in pirating copyrighted content, since they and their families can't shell out $150/mo on TV/streaming services.

I will be honest Disney started at £49.99 for the year then went to £79.99 and then this year they wanted £109.99 so I cancelled it there. Not really worth it for my needs. Will maybe renew when the next series of The Bear drops.

Amazon Prime is close to the chopping block. Netflix is included in my Sky subscription so it is safe just now.

Apple TV is £8.99 a month but I have had it for free from various offered for about 18 months so I don’t feel too bad about it but initially the programmes seemed all as big hits but noticing more dross coming on that now as well.

Yeah me too with prices, I started £49.99 at beginning and then went £79.99. I still on £79.99 though but downgrade from £109.99 since none of my TV is 4K and 1080p is fine. I will eventually get 4K TV but still stick £79.99 cos I refuse to pay over £100 just get 4K per year! Price is bit mad.

I would be super awesome if cable tv would just come back. 600+ channels and nothing on sounds better than getting nickel and dimed with subscriptions.
Ah yes because you don't get nickel and dimed with cable. Not to mention all the "rental" fees for boxes and what not just to let the cable actually work. No thanks.

Disney+ isn't profitable, so it's inevitable that the parent company will look towards higher prices and lowering costs in order to stop the bloodletting.
Or they could stop releasing **** with ridiculous budgets because they were able to get away with it during Covid. *Looks at you secret invasion.*

Some of the more recent disinterest has to do with superhero movie fatigue.

I'm not sure it's fair to look at box office numbers for 2021 and at least the first half of 2022 due to the pandemic shutting down movie theaters and movie production, plus some people were hesitant to go back in 2022 when theaters started opening up while others got used to watching movies at home

Key Facts
  • 62% of American adults are comfortable going to a movie theater, compared to a low of 12% who were comfortable doing so in May 2020, shortly after the pandemic began.
  • 36% of respondents said concern about Covid-19 is a major reason why they don’t regularly see movies in theaters, with 25% saying it's a minor reason and 39% saying it’s not a reason at all.
  • Only 41% of respondents said they sometimes or often see movies in theaters, compared to 59% who said they did so before the pandemic started.
  • Over half of respondents, 55%, said they are more interested in watching movies at home, 50% said it’s too expensive to see movies in theaters and 32% said they aren’t interested in the movies playing in theaters are major reasons why they don’t go to theaters.
  • Approximately half of internet adults in the U.S. reported attending the cinema over a three-month period, a substantial increase over 2021 totals, but still short of historic trends.
  • Currently, 22% of internet adults attend the cinema multiple times per month, mirroring pre-pandemic levels in 2018 and 2019. However, the survey data shows a shortfall in overall cinema attendance due to infrequent movie-goers being hesitant to return to the theater.
  • The survey also found that frequent movie-goers use more SVOD and AVOD services but spend the least amount of time watching TV/video content each day compared to infrequent/non-movie goers.

While Disney has had some good box office results from a few movies...

They also had quite a few disappointments...
That and going to the movies is expensive anymore

I would rather wait and watch on my nice home theater for a fraction of the price

With large tv's being affordable these days, the appeal to the theater just isn't there for me
