Ah... so 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ it is, then.
Bold move when your service is already hundreds of millions in the hole, but Disney gonna Disney.
Netflix grew revenue and subscriber growth in double digits when they did it - hundreds of millions of dollars.

Not that I want to see my streaming password swap meet come to an end - cause I don't - but D+ is one most people will pay for if they have to. It's the peacocks of the world that might not see the same success as Netflix.

PS. Sad that Paramount and Peakcock will not be merging as rumored - I was really looking forward to the new app called Mount Cock.

Maybe a controversial thought, but producing better content might be a good way to build the platform, not messing around friends sharing a password.

Maybe take a leaf out of Apple's book and come up with original shows, not just endless franchise sequels and bland CG kids movies.
Apple hasn't had that many breakout shows that people care about, and unless you want all their original content (because there is nothing else) Apple TV+ is a hard sell.... supported by their subscription numbers and the rumors Apple is looking to partner with another streamer because theirs is a failure financially.

Penny-pinching for me but not for thee? Hypocritical and shameful.

What the hell, Disney? (And Netflix.) It’s my subscription, if I want to share it I will.

Curious how this works on Cable Boxes where the app isn't really on the box but running server side and streaming to the cable box. The IP for that is going to be vastly different than the IP address for my network.

If they don't have a way to differentiate that I suspect that may be the one loophole. If that is the case then my parents can still use it.

Hacks. Shogun. White Lotus. Metropolitan Opera. Fargo. The list of good content is way more than there is time to see it.
I understand some of these are good like Fargo for example or Shogun, but I’m really interested in real science fiction and on that front there’s nothing decent enough to even bother investing the time. Time is expensive these days. It’s the most expensive thing you have.
