So? Why can’t you broadcast it on two different channels at the same time? it Is your content.

because the broadcaster has paid for probable exclusivity in that market, so the contract is being broken. Doesn’t matter if it’s your content, you are bound by contracts.

WHY DISNEY?! YOU OWN THE F*****G RIGHTS OF EVERYTHING!

See, this is why people continue to download movies and shows illegally, because the legal alternatives are just half baked.

I would like to apologize for my outburst.

it gets frustrating when you pay same price but get less than the americans

I kinda feel sorry for those countries..

To think they have to listen to us better people sing about how great Disney+ is for "4 months,19 days"

And of course, just as is with NetFlix, it will probably have 50% less content than the US version. Black pirate flags shall rise again!

Not to mention we pay more for less content in Europe...

Curious. Why are the Dutch getting it 5 months earlier than the rest of Europe?
It might be a compensation because of apple pay delay...

I live in the Netherlands and I cancelled the subscription today. Missing app, bad website and most of the content I’ve already seen.
Not worth the price for me. Maybe in the future.

What about Norway?
What’s Norway ? 🤔

just kidding, I love your country

Some companies seem to think that those (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain) are the only countries in Europe. They always get things first. Shame.
Not the only but the bigger. So it makes sense.

Perhaps they just mean Disney's cartoons with Hitler and Nazi symbols in them won't be available in Germany?
Nazi symbols in Disney’s cartoons ? 🤨

In a shocking discovery certain to complicate the legacy of a national icon, the estate of Walt Disney announced Friday it had discovered a cache of anti-American cartoons the pioneering animator intended to release if the Axis Powers had triumphed in World War II.

Err... theonion.com. The Onion.

DRM regulations I think.
I live in the Netherlands and to be honest at this time is useless...

Yeah but funnily enough, not even all Amazon Prime tv shows are available in Europe.
Prime in Europe (maybe besides UK/Germany) is trash.

Please give us your definition :)
Oh, and please clarify, who is "us"? :D
Amazon prime in Italy is almost the same as in Germany.

The only thing I am interested in is the Mandalorian and Jeff Goldblums show, which I will watch via ‘other’ means. So by the time Disney+ launches in the UK it will offer zero content that I don’t already own or am interested in until their new shows launch late 2020/21. Even then I’m not sure if it’s worth paying for a handful of shows. They should offer it for a year until they fill out their offerings.

I imagine that it may due to some existing deals with local distributers for some shows that Disney hasn't got the streaming rights back (yet). Disney could pull its shows and movies off Hulu because it owns Hulu. If this was another company Disney might have to wait until the contract ends.

Unless you are a teenager, there is no point in subscribing to this service. Just a bunch of chest-bumping superhero overproduced garbage shows and films. I will stay with Netflix, thank you very much.

*Unless you're a teenager, a family with kids, someone who loves super hero movies/starwars, someone who loves National Geographic, or someone who like Pixar films.

FTFY

Well, when Netflix wanted to setup in France they negotiated for years with the authorities because there are very tight laws protecting the French cinema.
Firstly, they wanted them to produce a certain percentage of French language content (from memory 25%!) Then, they weren't allowed to stream any new films that were less than three years old..and so on.
Eventually, Netflix said, 'We've had enough of this' and based their streaming operation in the Netherlands to get around the regulation, using Amazon's servers that are based there.
I guess the regulations are more relaxed there, they are probably using Amazon as well.. Something in there leading to the probably answer.
And outside the UK, they are the country that speaks by far the best English in Europe so maybe that helped? I mean, nearly everyone there speaks English like a native but often with better grammar.

I do confirm (I live in the Netherland but I'm not dutch).

Other than a few farmers down in the south west, I think Ireland may speak “by far the best English in Europe”. You know, given how it’s the native language and all ;)

Netflix content is garbage. waste of money at this point.....

Alone the international content on Netflix is better than every single show and movie on Disney+. How many original Japanese shows are on Disney+? German? English? That's right...ZERO. A show like DARK is better than anything Disney has ever made in the last 25 years.
