Easy to solve

1. make an US iTunes Account
2. buy a digital Apple store gift card on Walmart.com
3. subscribe to the service through the Apple store
4. get smartdns
5. enjoy!

Are you sure subscriptions are accepted without a credit card present in the account? As far as I know recurring payments like subscriptions still need a card saved. Credits coming from gift cards are of course usable, as you said.

In Europe we need to wait until 2020? :(

Due to existing licensing agreements most of the content won't return to Disney for streaming for another year or two. This is true even in the US. For instance, Netflix has some Star Wars and Marvel movies while Starz has a quite a few Pixar movies.

I think it will give more headaches to Apple with their overpriced service with very little content

Apple has deal with disney+ Their shows are inside Apple TV app, which is very big thing for Apple. Netflix is only? big streaming service who doesn’t offer content inside Apple TV app. After this disney deal and these prices, we propably see Netflix there soon too, because they have to come there if they want to compete, Victory!

Who wouldn’t want to have all their series and movies under one app, instead opening different services.

Very little is known about atv+
Right.
But everyone knows it will tank because Disney will show old Star Wars movies?
Netflix should be worried, yes, because they refuse any cooperation with anyone and are loosing content big time when Disney+ pulls one show after the other.
But atv+?
First, ist a side show, nothing to be too concerned about, Netflix fights for there existence.

Then, what about the long standing cooperation between Apple and Disney? Hey, Disney is sitting in the Apple board?

How about........Disney+ for $6,99, atv+ for $9,99 and, by the way, includes Disney+?

Now we are locking at access to 70% of entertainment content, plus amazon prime because thats usually already there (its an ad on, you do not subscribe to prime video when you have prime already) and it would get really quiet at netflix headquarters.

Just a thought, thinking of the coincidence of a quasi simulcast launch, Disney at the board of Apple and Pixar a former Steve Jobs Company.

This will replace Netflix in a couple of years.

They will be lucky to have been able to roll this out in half of the countries Netflix operates in within the next couple of years.

Apparently so! IMHO they should have sorted them out before launching this, or they should have delayed the new exclusive content until sorting them all out. It’s reportedly going to take up to two years for some places. It’s ludicrous, and kind of sours me on the whole thing from the get-go.

I guess in 6 months or a year’s time It’ll have launched here (UK) and I won’t care anymore, but still...

Wouldn't bet on it being that soon.

Netflix's vast catalog of mediocre, drawn-out, time wasting shows is looking less and less appealing. At this point all I really care about is Disney+ and HBO (quality over quantity).

ATV+ doesn't even register as something worth subscribing to... hopefully they bundle it with something more immediately appealing, like Arcade, News+, or Music.

Agree Disney+ and HBO seems like a decent amount of quality shows for around $20. Most people have Amazon Prime, add in Netflix if you have to and you have enough things to watch for months. ATV+ might be worth it, but it takes a few years to build it from scratch like Amazon did.

That’s true, but the hostile way Netflix’s operating nowadays I don’t see many people being a fan. Once you lose the connection with your own customers it’s only time for the eventuality.

4 streams at a time is reasonable. That will eventually be the norm for all the streaming services as a middle ground to discourage sharing of accounts.

People act like they have to be subscribed to a gazillion streaming services at a time.

You can just subscribe to one service for a couple of months, watch whatever you want to watch and then change to another service... and so on... I know it’s a pain in the ass having to change but hey, it’s just a couple of minutes actually ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds amazing. My whole childhood and recent high budget releases in one 6.99 $ package? I am sold!

Apple who?

internationally their streaming rights are all over the place. Netflix, Sky, Prime you name it.
That price will get you hooked, and when you are... 100% raise, or more No thank you Disney. You are going in the wrong direction with sjw/feminism agenda = Nogo!

I’m just very irritated only a small number of countries will have access to this service at launch. I’m sure there are reasons, but none are good enough.

The Mandalorian is going to get spoiled and pirated all over the internet, much as don’t condone either thing. It’s a shame.

Well... for the UK, their movies are tied up in the Sky deal for another year (at least) beyond the launch date. So, I can imagine other countries have similar deals -- and I don't think they want to charge the same relative price for only originals, or charge a lesser price and then get called to the floor when they have to raise it later when they come. Can't blame them too terribly much.
