Seems like a pretty standard Apple approach yeah? They never throw it all in at once. Retina first, get sales, spec bump after, get more sales. Apple are the masters of creating internal conflict in their customers heads.

The entire industry is founded on making people dissatisfied with what they have. When you think you don't need anything, an artificial need is created instead. Everyone knows this, but what most people don't know is that they're creating that need themselves because the marketing campaigns told them to.

I'll take mini with 1gb RAM, A6, and 32gb min storage any day over retina version with similar specs because non retina one will absolutely fly.

Take a look at the minis screen and tell us it'll satisfy real needs beyond ones in your head. It's no different than those pixel peepers in digital photography.

I have 3g iPad so I know retina display matters for 9.7 inch screen but not 7.9 inch in real life use.

So a retina display doesn't matter for a 4" screen either?
