there is no yellow tint with true tone off
I assure you there is on many of the X phones. Not the display models, those are largely perfect, but this first batch definitely has yellow fever.
there is no yellow tint with true tone off
Be sure to apply some clear yellow tint to the windows in your house, so you can replicate that perfect accuracy in real life too.
there are? with true tone off? don't buy that. If there is then those are defected units.I assure you there is on many of the X phones. Not the display models, those are largely perfect, but this first batch definitely has yellow fever.
Apple has too much of a cult following....im out of here everyone. Thanks for all the great debates.

good job mine is fine.
I have seen that thread but many are what comes out the box with true tone on. Mine was the same but with true tone off there are no issues. I'm sure if this was a big issue it would of been made more public by now.See the yellow/blue shift thread for many examples. Good panels are rare but do exist. Confrats on winning the lottery. Hope you dont get migraines from the oled tech like some others. Im returning mine and going with an 8 plus.

So far I have pretty written off every tech journo. And so-called respected outlets like Consumer Reports and now DisplayMate have earned my ire for their lies and worse still, their venality. Completely understandable and 100% logical that Apple would would engage in bribery as Apple is one of the most corrupt companies in the free market—of course everyone forgets Steve Jobs was involved in stock manipulation. But pundits have an obligation to hold Apple to task for their deception. The iPhone X marks the day when greed and avarice has completely taken over the tech world. With Apple's marketing war chest, there doesn't seem to be a SINGLE entity that is willing to claim Samsung works-of-modern-art are superior to Apple's garbagePhone.
With a beautiful and elegant display as such as Samsung's, this dynasty doesn't need a software portfolio like Apple's. No iWork. No iLife. No iOS. No APFS. No Swift. No Metal. No stupid software kits. Who the hell uses Clips? Who the hell uses GarageBand? Who the hell uses Activity? Who the hell uses iBooks? Who the hell uses News? Who the hell uses Apple Music? Who the hell uses Music Memos? Who the hell uses FaceTime?
If Apple is king of anything, it's bloatware. Samsung phones don't come preloaded with such trifling productivity/creativity apps.
Samsung's patented Infinity Display is all one needs to enjoy their mobile endeavors.
as I said with true tone off it's not an issue. With both off the x destroys my 7 plus with screen qualityI wouldnt count on that. People are too apathetic these days. And the other thread was not about true tone. If yours is really bad with true tone on you probably have one of the yellow ones. Pull up settings and compare to an older iphone or a display phone X, both with true tone off. See if yours looks gray or yellow-gray. Warning: once you see it, if you have it,you cant unsee.

Samsung wins: oh ya this guy got a PHD and super reliable, best source in the worldIn reality, its really not. It almost doesn't look like a OLED and looks more like a brighter more vivid LCD. Apple usually always wins for accuracy and calibration but clearly if you see both screens side to side. You will still give the win to the Note 8. They failed to mention the lower resolution etc, the lower amount colors that can be displayed etc. This is definitely Apple ensuring displaymate gets their paycheck.
They couldn't even clearly say the display was clearly better than the Note 8...and you know why.
Displaymate has lost all credibility to me. They love piss yellow calibrations and dingy screens. They proclaim every iphone screen "OMG best evar1!" when they clearly arent.
When I see some of samsungs displays, I'm shocked at how good they look. When I see my iPhone X display, I want to look away asap, cause it sucks so bad.
you're the perfect samsung customer. programmed to love 'torch mode'
But but but you told us to wait for the displaymate review. Hmmmm. In reality, its really not. It almost doesn't look like a OLED and looks more like a brighter more vivid LCD. https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...eds-article-comparison.2084330/#post-25384824The article was completely bias. It didn't look at display modes for color accuracy for the Note 8. Viewing angles is to the eye of the beholder. There are more color shifts in the iphone X than the S8 or Note 8. You are better waiting for displaymate reviews. Leaving out information about resolution, ppi, display modes, customization for a cooler or warmer display etc. in the galaxy series really shows that the article was completely bias. In person, anyone who sees both displays knows the s8 and note 8 is impressive compared to the iphone X's display which is really a S6 panel with some Apple customizations. Hey, my girlfriend who sleeps next to me every night has the iphone X and even she said it cannot compete with the Note 8's screen. Happy iPhone Day....
Either way, Samsung wins since they made the display.
And that plainly ridiculous statement that the iPhone X uses a s6 generation OLED display. But but but you told us to wait for the displaymate review. Hmmmm.

Remeber when everyone was stoked about that 1,000+ nit rating Samsung was giving the Note 8. Lol.A record high Full Screen Brightness for OLED Smartphones of 634 nits, which improves screen visibility in high Ambient Light. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 can produce up to 1,240 nits, but only for small portions of the screen area (Low Average Picture Levels) – for Full Screen the Note8 can produce up to 423 nits with Manual Brightness and 560 nits with Automatic Brightness only in High Ambient Light. For small portions of the screen area the iPhone X can produce up to 809 nits (Low Average Picture Levels). On its Home Screen the iPhone X produces an impressively bright 726 nits.
