What I am saying is that for those of us who are thinking about going from a 6 to a 6splus the difference IS going to be significant......129 grams to 192 grams is quite a bit. Especially if you talk a lot on it without a headset and carry it in your hand.

You're comparing a 6 to a 6+. Of course it's going to weigh more. It's a LARGER phone.

Compare a 6+ to a 6S+ and it's negligible at best.

I'm a 6'4" tall bloke and I have a muscular physique. I bench press and do bar pull-ups.
Moving from the i5 to the 6+ not only is the phone much larger but it is also much heavier. Those two increases make the phone harder to carry in a shirt pocket and harder to hold in certain positions. A new, heavier version is even more off-putting and especially to those not moving from the 6+.

It seems that a new design is called for and the iPhone 7 can't come quick enough. Large bezels and a hefty weight make the 6+/6S+ an all 'round bigger device than it need be.

3D Touch is the precursor to the home button being removed in the iPhone 7. You heard it here first.

No ****... I get that to. However, it is exponentially worse because the newer version of the 6plus is so much heavier than the old one. I just find it rather ironic that this was NOT mentioned in the keynote and that apple normally makes a big deal about the new ones being lighter and thinner etc

Apple usually make things thinner and lighter. Making an already very heavy phone even heavier is a strange move for Apple. Either it's due to the new screen, or the additional frame strengthening. A year in with my 6+ and it still feels big and heavy.

It's in all likely hood to do with the stronger and most likely denser 7000 aluminium and taptic engine.

How do you feel about the battery? No OIS in the 6S? 6S+ being thicker? No 32gb? No fast charging?

The iPad 3 was thicker and heavier than the iPad 2. The iPad mini 2 was thicker and heavier than the iPad mini. It happens.

Honestly not too worried, I wasnt expecting changes there. Mine charges fast, and the 6 plus battery life is better than the 6 which I am ok with. Camera seems cool.... just not sure about the size. Unlike some of you I AM NOT a big dude....but a rather short chick...

Well hopefully this means that they are done with trying to make it thinner and thinner, it's thin enough as it is.

Thanks for the snarky comment....completely uncalled for. The 6 has gone from 129grams too 143 grams so a 11 percent increase and the 6 plus from172 grams to 192 grams a percent 12 increase. To me that is rather significant!!!
I agree that is a pretty significant weight increase. Has it been confirmed that they house smaller batteries capacities as well as thicker, wider and taller enclosures? I'm amazed Jony let this happen.

a few grams? lol changes that small are imperceptible to the human senses at those weights unless you know which one is lighter
Quite noticeable if you're holding the device for long periods of time (wrist fatigue). Mind, weight is one of the reasons I switched from the 6+ to the 6. That said, I find the weight of the new 6 (~140g) to still be quite acceptable.

Yes but how would they have handled it in the keynote? Timmy, Jony, and Eddie get up there and point to their expanding waistlines and say we ALL are getting heavier at Apple?

My 6Plus in the case is a heavy monster. Even though it's a very slender wallet case. I do have some concerns about downsizing and losing battery. Losing OIS even though another forum member says I likely won't notice.

It's not so much weight but the dimensions that make it a pocket buster.

Many times percentage change is disceiving. Consider going from 1 gram to 2 grams. A 100% increase but I suspect you would be hard pressed to feel the difference in your hand.

Do you use a case? Many cases will add more weight than you are complaining about, but that doesn't seem to matter. If you are really concerned, tape something to your existing phone 14 grams and see if you even notice it.

I think the weight is the new screen and the Taptic Engine. The 7000 series aluminium should be the same weight or less even though there is slightly more material.
Saw it reported that the 7000 series case is actually lighter than the more bendable case. Think it was the thread that bent both.
