do I need de fusion before replacing HDD/SSD?

Hi, all.

Planning to upgrade my HDD capacity by getting new SSD and HDD which I want it to be fusioned.

I currently have 256GB SSD and 2TB HDD fusion and will get new 512GB SSD and 4TB HDD.

I am going to use that 256GB SSD to my old iMac to speed up. so my question is

Do I need de fusion SSD and HDD before removing it? or can I just take it out and install to iMac and format and use?

Either way will be fine. In either case you will need to reformat it anyway.
