lmao. :D So saying "Hey Ladies" politely is good?
Be polite, though.. the difference between polite "hey ladies" and CREEPY "hey ladies" is a very thin line...

It's ok, 'cuz he's british..
He can get away with anything!

It's like a super power!

hmm in english i guess i would use girls untill 30 or soemthing like that beond that: i have no idea...

in german it's not really difficult since there is a olite version of "you" which english dropped
but when talking abound them with others its kinda similar: there is the "girls" word ("moatla") and "women" ("froua") word... (and lot of not so nice words... of course)

i don't remember using "miss" once my whole life ("Fräulein" it just sounds so cheesy 50ties like)

it just occured to me--why do edesignuk and dietcokevanilla have exactly the same avatars?
It's really confusing. I was very intrigued when I was reading how edesignuk wouldn't mind being called a bird. I took a while before I noticed my mistake.

Well here's a thing. I always think it is weird when I get referred to as "a man". I'm a boy, a bloke, a guy whatever - but "man" just seems weird, I've never thought about it before. And I'm 25.

In the lab we have a mix of men and women, but we always refer to "boys and girls" (presently there is a distinct excess of girls). Amongst my male friends, I generally refer to the female of the species as "girls".

I dunno, I have a hard time calling some 18-year-olds "women". I say this based purely on a maturity metric.

In my experience, basing purely on maturity, at least 80% of females over the age of 18 don't deserve to be called women. The same goes for males over 18, again in my own experience.

I have no problems with my friends calling me a 'girl' or in any social environment since I associate it with fun and youth. In Aberdeen, they used to *********s 'quinies' although revenge was sweet since the guys are 'loons'

I think I might have a problem if my boss at work started calling me a girl since I suspect I might then think he's not respecting me.

Yes, I agree. Some males over 18 just don't deserve to be called women. :p :D

I call them chicas.

How about "ragazza"? Or perhaps it's too snobbish to say, "Ciao, ragazza"...

But it seems to be able to work across a broad age range. But then again, I don't know how many people would understand what you're saying...

I ALWAYS say "HEY GIRLS" to all my girlfriends younger or older than me (i'm 29) !!! Or when I am leaving a voice mail for my a friend I ALWAYS start out saying "HEY GIRL, what's up, its Kelly!!" How in the world could that be offensive to someone? :)

Same here, some people look into things to in-depth. Get a life people. :p ;) :) :D
