Those pictures were taken from Coconut Battery.

I use mine on the battery daily as I take it around the house and in the garden/to another house multiple times in a day. I regularly take it down to about 2 minutes left of battery life.

I don't feel guilty about it, if the battery dies in future I can get a new battery.

Thank you! I thought it was something along the line of Onyx. I have to hone my google skills...

Yes, I felt horrible when my battery went from "100%" to "99%"

DEAD. :(

don't worry. your battery charge fluctuates according to your notebooks' internal charging mechanism.

i've put on close to 400 charges and sometimes the charge stops at 97%, sometimes 99% and sometimes 100%.

go through another cycles and then check again.

You should start an organization called PEUC...

I know what you mean. It doesn't bother me too much but I still have that weird feeling when I unplug my MBP and put it through a cycle.

I have a 5 year old iBook that I use every day with 500 cycles. The battery doesn't last more than a couple hours anymore, but that's not so bad. However, we have a dozen notebooks at work, no more than a couple years old and almost never unplugged. When they are unplugged, the batteries last about 15 minutes.

If you're afraid to unplug your computer, you should probably just sell your good battery while it's still good, then buy a cheap, used, almost dead one and leave your notebook plugged in all the time.

On an iPod, MBA or uMBP 17", I can understand. On something with a removable battery? No.

I just filled my car up with gas but I don't want to drive it because it will use the gas.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel guilty putting on battery cycles? I always feel horrible when it goes to the next cycle, almost like degrading me as a human. 48 days ago I had to get a new battery and since then I have put on 0 cycles still (it came with 0 cycles and still says 0). I am avoiding battery at all cost just to not put on a cycle.
Maybe I am just weird.... lol

You're actually not doing your laptop any favours - its best to fully drain your battery atleast once a month. As has been said above, leaving it plugged in constantly will screw it up even worse and you can expect about half an hour of battery if you continue doing what your doing. Unplug and use the laptop as was intended.

A well cared for battery needs to be used relatively often. I try and go through at least once cycle a week; I normally bring the power cord along with me so I use the battery when there's no convenient plug around, and then the cord when there is one. I usually average two or three cycles overall a week when I'm on campus, slightly less when I'm not. That's why the battery's around 2 years old with 210 cycles and still at 97% health :)

Yes, the Mac is four years old (12" PowerBook), but the battery is a little more than two (serial number puts it at January 2007); battery recall FTW :)

From what I've read the thing that kills it the most is sitting there plugged in all day.
That's also what I've heard, from multiple places. I plug in my MBP most of the time (unlike my iBook) because the newer MacBooks don't have this problem.

Wait, you guys actually use your notebooks? Mine just sits on my desk while I look at it, I mean if I open the screen it might get dust on it

;)

I don't have many load cycles when you look at the age of this. I don't think 77% is too bad for the original battery.
