I sold my Air 2 and mini 3 and replaced them with a Pro and a mini 4. This is the perfect set up for me. I use the Pro at home and take the mini to work with me.

I got the pro, and passed on my Mini 2. I still want a mini 4 - it's better for reading books and is just a very handy size to have around.

Have you tried reading on a kindle? If so, which do you prefer, kindle or mini?

The mini finally got there as a fine offering, the earlier models really did not entice me.

I had a mini 2 and sold it, picked up an Air 2. While the Mini was a bit more portable, I really enjoy the bigger display of the Air 2. I don't see myself going back to the Mini for now. I could have kept for Mini, but the fact is it would just be collecting dust. I think people that have 2 or 3 of these devices really don't need them, they just want them and have found a niche way to use them, thought in all honesty it's totally unnecessary. I've never found a situation in which my Air 2 isn't as convenient or easy to use at my previous Mini was. The only exception to that could be the iPad Pro because it is very large in comparison, so having a Mini with it, would make the most sense.

Good thing you aren't King of the world; there is no perfect anything for everyone .

I use my Air 2 around the house (watching TV or bed), my desktop for real computing at home, MBA for computing when traveling, and Mini 4 when I leave the house. I use a motorcycle for most of my transportation and a phone is too small and Air too big. The Mini is perfect for checking email, weather, and anything quickly when on the go.

And the fact is you do that because you want too, not because you need too. It's your money you do whatever you want as I am sure Apple loves you! I am guilty of doing the same. LOL King of the World... now that has a nice ring to it. Off with his head! hehehe

Fact is no one needs any electronic device to live so I'm not sure your point.

The point is people buying 2 or 3 of these devices when one would actually do is the point. Not really hard to figure out is it? You sure roll your eyes alot and apparently take all this way too seriously! I am king of the world, I don't need to have a point.

You know we can always rationalize and justify another Apple purchase and usually do. Like I said I have been guilty of doing the same. Apple loves us when we do this stuff, but of course the thing to realize is that most people have to decide which one to get that will work for the bulk of there use as they cannot afford to buy a device for every niche use. However, if one has the money and want too then power to them.

It's Christmas Eve, lighten up! GEEZ!

Honestly I agree. There is another poster on here somewhere not sure if it is a joke or not, but has the intention of getting a 12'"macbook 11.6 inch air and a 13.3 rMbp. Why anyone would need or even want to deal with using three overlapping products is anyone's guess.

I personally hate carrying any device other than my phone with me. Before school was over I used my phone to do some work at the coffee shop which was editing a word template. This worked well enough, not ideal but better than lugging around a second device. I can see myself getting another Ipad Pro but I would only use it for music reading and right now $1,000 on that does not make sense and to be honest I'd rather have the sony E-Reader the large one as that would be better on the eyes, but that is also 1,000 dollars. I can print a lot of music for $100 so right now the cost is not worth it.

I really like the new iPad mini 4 and use it much more than I did my iPad mini 2. However, still most often around the house I use the iPad Air 2. For reading however I always preferred the mini and now on more trips out I'll be bringing the iPad mini 4 vs. the iPad Air 2.

If my budget were not crying out right now, I would have kept my iPad Mini 4 (I bought a second one because I thought the flip phone / iPad Mini 4 combo would work. It didn't). The Mini 4 was the first iPad I really enjoyed using and the color gamut / screen, weight was terrific.

If I do eventually get a Pro, I hope I will enjoy as much as I did the Mini. For anyone that needs a mobile tablet, it truly is a wonderful little product.

Improvements for sure. Just don't think it's on the same level as the upgrades from Air 2 to Pro. Still a great tablet.

There isn't upgrades from the Air 2 to the Pro. Its a completely different product. Next you'll try to tell us the "upgrades" from the 13in macbook pro to the 15in macbook pro, are more significant than the upgrades in the macbook...

Yes, different products. Just like the mini and the air are different products.

I think all the gaps in my portable setup have been filled now (6S Plus, Air 2, rMBP). If I have to carry everything around (and I will next year), the iPP would be too large with a MacBook Pro, and the 6S Plus is practically a mini iPad Mini. I personally love the size and form factor of the 9.7 display, but I'm sure the Mini 4 is a great tablet.

I'd hope that'd be the case. It'd be weird if the Mini was outsold by something that fits a niche market and isn't even in large enough supply.

I see what you mean, though some would argue that the Mini is becoming a niche product as larger phones are replacing small tablets for a lot of people.
