What about the 16in model m1 max 32gb ram vs 64gb?
Would that amount of memory make a difference too?

I have a maxed out 14 with 64 gigs of RAM. Even under full load it’s pretty tough to get it to throttle. For all intensive purposes most people should consider the 16 and 14 to be equivalent. Reality is these chassis are completely over engineered for these efficient chips inside. If you care about the last .5 or 1% of performance there’s always the high power mode on a 16 inch but honestly I feel like it’s more about getting tech Youtubers excited than real world practical use
Yup, same here. You barely even hear the fans spin.I have a maxed out 14 with 64 gigs of RAM. Even under full load it’s pretty tough to get it to throttle. My friend’s 16 pro is hitting 91C during cinebench r23 multi core with no fan ramp he says. Normal?
I didn’t test my 14 max yet. He’s concerned that fans don’t turn on, thinking he sees them on in YT benches.
Some real life tests coming in for M1 Pro 14 vs M1 Pro 16 and exactly when does throttling start. Seems like 14 gets much hotter (and louder fans), but no practical performance degradation vs 16 inch
This was only for M1 Pro comparison...M1 Max comparison video should come out in a day or two
In the video the M1 Pro on the 14" reaches 106 degrees celcius! but still does not throttle...
This is worrying, surely that can't be good for the chip![]()
For what it’s worth, Linus tech mentioned that the M1 core temperature sensors are different than the ones in Intel chips so they always report somewhat higher temps.Yeah, it is a bit too high.
Are the CPU temperatures read by TG Pro correct?
106°C is very very high...
