When I got my iPhone 4 I named it 'Glass Slate' in iTunes.

That's ONLY in iTunes, though. I've never called it that in real life.

So by that measure I guess Glass Slate is it's REAL name and 'iPhone' is the nickname I call it.

we do call my girlfriends white EEEPC 1005HA "the baby" though.

and i've changed the carrier names for each so everyone knows, except my first itouch cracked the screen so i had to take it back and now there's a Mercedes II

I went with an anatomy theme as I'm in Kin @ University.
