Frankly, I am not sure why everyone is so antsy to get on the LTE bandwagon, as really it doesn't matter much at this point. From what I have seen, the major set back is carrier backhaul, not the wireless coding method. We are doing well with our faux 4G in the Chicago area though, as ATT and Verizon have extensive LTE coverage, while US Cellular and Sprint are starting to build their networks. Sprint and Clearwire also run their huge WiMAX network in our area.

AT&T doesn't have LTE in Salt Lake City yet but is supposed to have it by the end of the year. Verizon already has LTE.

I have LTE in my area as of this coming Thursday, and no matter what the price, it's bound to cost less than half of what you all pay in the USA for 3G!!!

I do near Baltimore. Verizon LTE has great coverage on the east coast.

I would like to see that speed test...no way you are getting 14 down on HSPA

Gladly. See the attached screenshot. Note that there is no wifi icon on the status bar. This is on a T-Mobile branded Galaxy S2.

This phone is capable of hitting 42Mbps but only the towers here are pushing the theoretical limit of 21Mbps.

Added speedtest screen from my home wifi. Note the different icons. Cell radio is off to conserve battery and wifi calling is enabled (blue icon on the left).

I have AT&T and do not have LTE in Albuquerque (reported to launch by the end of 2012). Verizon, however, does have LTE here.

What kind of speeds do you see on average? LTE on VzW is still in planning where I live. I will admit that I haven't kept up on CDMA tech as of late. Been working on a pet project that had put my reviewing of GSM phones on hold along with mourning my broken iPhone 4s (static when recording video).

It's funny when I think about it. I have a very fast Android (dare I say Samsung  ) but prefer using my iPhone on T-Mobile which is still on EDGE until Tmo shifts the 3G service to support 1900Mhz needed for the iPhone. It's starting on the east coast with some lucky folks but I may be waiting a while. Otherwise, EDGE is just fine for MMS and Siri on the Tmo network.

damn! that really makes their unlimited network worth looking into....even w/o LTE

A couple years ago when the first "4G" phones were released (HTC G2 & MyTouch 4G) the network was not ready at all and in the best conditions, 5Mbps was the best you could get. It was only recently that I noticed the speed boost here.

I heard 'Frisco has 42Mb coverage up and running and with true uncapped & unlimited data, if you're buying an Android device or a WP8 phone, T-Mobile really is a bargain. The other nice feature is if you have sappy coverage inside, all phones sold now feature WiFi calling.

This poll is un-American friendly. The two options should be, I don't have ATT or Vzw and I don't have LTE or I don't have ATT or Vzw and I do have LTE. I do have LTE without ATT or Vzw.

I was trying to compare AT&T vs VZW. I could have included "Other with LTE" and "Other w/o LTE" though...

Should've allowed multiple selections. The poll will lean toward AT&T automatically since more of us bought iPhones before Verizon had an offering.

No LTE for AT&T here in Little Rock AR but it should be coming soon. Verizon has had LTE here since February. Rodgers AR and Fayetteville AR got LTE a couple weeks ago so I think it will be in Little Rock soon. I know someone at work with a S3 and he said he gets LTE for short amounts of time every once in a while so I think they may be in some testing stage. Not really sure how that works. I would much rather wait a few months than switch to Verizon as I have never been a big fan of them.

It varies. I've seen as low as 4mbs down and as high 45mbs down. My upload is always around 15mbs.

On the flip side Verizon's 3G around here can be terrible. I've never seen over 1.5mbs and it's not uncommon to see .25mbs. If I had to pick a carry I'd pick AT&T, however my employer supplies my iPhone and pays for the service so I can't complain too much.
