Some people can live with problems more than the others. If you are married, you will understand what I mean :D

What I am trying to prove is, these new Macbooks are poor quality controlled. At least the quality is far lower than we can accept! This is the problem of the manufacturer and the quality can be improved. If they can accept the fact that they have problems than they will do something to improve it.

I am telling the fact. Nothing personal.

Sorry guy it isnt personal to me. But you have to realize if you are legitimately after the "truth" as you claim, you will realize there is more than just the two opposite extremes.

PS. I work quality assurance for a living. I am an aircraft inspector on 777s. One of the things that makes a good inspector is understanding the difference between something that is airworthy (ie critical) and something that is not. We do have inspectors who have killed international flights and find it a badge of honor. I see the same in here.

You might want to re-think the wording there? Maybe 'grounded' would be a better choice?

I'm asking a very simple question here, do you have problem with you new Macbook. The answer is very simple, YES or NO.

If you have problems with your new Macbook, but you can live with these problems, you can feel free NOT to answer the poll. But it seems to me that the result of this poll is telling the truth that people here is not happy with the poor quality of these new Macbooks.

BTW, tell me what airline you are working for, and I will try my best to avoid flighting with this airline ;)

PS: Just kidding for fun. No offence.

Mine has about five function keys that slant down to the left as you look at them. It also had a couple of minor scratches on the top case on the corners straight out of the box.

It bugs me but not enough to return it as I don't have dead pixels or any serious fault.

Why we have to live with these bugs? This is a result of the poor quality control! Nothing to do with the design, and nothing to do with the OS. But the quality controllers of Apple factory is not doing their jobs!

Can you guys still want to argue see the points now?

Well, that would be kinda hard as I work for one but do all sorts of on call for others. So keep it in mind. Doesnt bother me in the least, means more seats open for me to fly free.

ok ok, so what do you want? a refund? a replacement? what is the point? what are you after? will it make you feel better if we all agree with you? do you want to organize a march on Apple HQ? WHAT?

If I want a refund or replacement, I will talk to Apple directly, but not here. I just want to share the fact that Apple is not giving us what we've paid for! Is it reasonable enough for you?

Hi all, first post. I loved my New Aluminum Macbook and it was fine, but after 2 weeks something happened to the fan. It sounded like it was hitting something and it was obnoxiously loud, so I took it the the Genius Bar. I was kind of sad they replaced it, but I still absolutely love my Macbook.

I went through 2 of em and then gave up. the first one had either dead pixels or several dust spots under the glass. the second one had a stuck pixel the second time I turned it on. (the first time it was turned on in the store with no problem.) I was certainly not happy at all. the MB was very cool and up to date with awesome features but Im with kenny the QC was horrible when it came to the screens.

I did purchase the new MBA and I am completely satisfied with this purchase. no problems and completely satisfied.

I was thinking about getting the MBA but from all the posts I see about the fans going crazy while just watching YouTube vids I think I'll stick with the regular MB. I think that HandBrake would kill a MBA lol.

Just got my new toy about an hour ago

And perfect so far. Scrutinised it for all the problems named in this forum and nothing :) Still need to bootup and check for dead pixels but hopefully nothing will arise

I just started playing with my macbook...I've had it for about an hour or so..So far so good..No loose battery latch, keyboard feels good so far and no dead pixels in sight :)

I'm on my second glassbook. The HD on the first one only lasted a couple of days then it started to take 20 mins to boot up and respond REALLY slowly. I took it back to the shop, they were very apologetic and I got handed a new one. Had no problems since and thank goodness for Time Machine!!

This is absurd. To think you are going to get a PERFECT screen is a pipe dream. Go buy a dell monitor (I have one) you are going to come across a dead pixel here and there. To moan and complain about a single stuck pixel is a waste of your time. To further that waste by taking the computer back multiple times is even more of a waste. Maybe you should join the dream land fun boat. Everyone on it expects that absolute perfection is relatively easy to achieve.

I keep seeing this word "slanted" everywhere about the keys. I'm from Norway, so could anyone please tell me what this problem means?

It's strange to see how many people are experiencing these problems. And twisted cases? Lol

The only thing I notice is that if you close the Macbook, you can push down the Apple logo. Its not a button, but it's not completely tight there, the metal is soft and theres alot of air under the logo. I wish they had something underneath that made it more compact.

I've had mine since the Thursday after they were announced, and love it. It is absolutely the best notebook I have ever owned. I am glad I switched.

Sorry about your problems though, OP.

There is no such thing as a mass produced product with zero quality problems.

The real test is how a supplier deals with such problems.

In my experience, Apple deals with problems far more professionally and sympathetically than most companies. Some people are taking back products with very minor cosmetic issues, but Apple usually replaces them. They want the customer to be happy with their purchase. I think that is excellent customer service, and is one of the reasons why I continue to buy Apple products.

I agree that there needs to be a "so-so" option, but all in all, I am very satisfied. None of the standard defects that plague other forum members and my screen is quite decent.

I agree, when I took mine back the people at the Apple Store were great!

Well, I just purchased my first MacBook yesterday and the experience at the Apple Store was...well a bit more to be desired.

I did go to the Apple Store and told them I knew what I wanted to get and they set me up. I did ask for a RAM upgrade at the store; best decision I ever made, but for a different reason.

They installed my RAM in the computer, but it took longer because they tested out the MacBook only to have died on them. They went and got me a new MacBook and they still did the RAM upgrade despite the fact that it took an entire hour to complete the entire process (if this is normal, then I'm fine with it).

I opened up my MacBook and so far, absolutely no defects to speak of:
-the keys are in perfect angle/symmetry
-No loose battery hinge
-No dead pixels

Now, I'm enjoying this machine and will do business with Apple once again :)

Can we have a bitch and moan and whine section of this forum so that people who come here for news and help don't get constantly bombarded by "OMG, the rubber feet on my new over priced MB don't stick to my desk, Apple's QC sux, they can't make anything that works right. It should be perfect for what I paid!!!"

Agreed; genuinely, the forums aren't an enjoyable place to be after major product revisions.

And before anyone asks why I'm here, it's because I enjoy the rumours. God forbid I click on almost any post to the left, because this is what the majority are like.
