In certain way I would, but just only for the A6X. I dont care much about the lightning port and such, but if I had bought the iPad 3 (which costs a LOT, almost like a windows laptop or mac mini if you get the bigger storage models) I would feel like I just threw 500$ to the rubbish.

The A6X will bring a noticeable difference, specially in the future iOS 7 and 8 updates.

Ipads are not cheap by any means. 500$ is the cheapest one. Imagine someone who bought the 32GB WIFI + LTE or the 64GB. That feeling would just be terrible.

iOS 7 is still a year away from now, let alone iOS 8 (what? are you 2 years ahead of the rest of us?).

My early 2012 iPad 64gb still powers on and behaves as fast/smooth as ever. So no, I don't feel any loss or sorry for myself. ;)

Yeah a bit robbed, part of the reason I like buying Apple products is that they are usually updated annually. I feel like I have the best and greatest for a year, which is great considering the rate of tech innovation.

Not too fussed, but that processor should of been in the iPad 3, Day one. I sometimes feel the choppyness in apps like Pinterest.

I am happy with my wifi iPad 2 32GB I got a year and a half ago - in fact they still sell new ones! (I know only 16gb) but it is cool that it is still current.

But to be honest - I use it for browsing and consuming digital content - it will be good for years to come...

Plus it still is the thinnest 9.7" iPad in production!

To those who are dismayed at the quick replacement of the new iPad - I hope you don't own a Windows computer or an Android phone - the Zoloft bills alone would be enough to break you.

A bit, however both of mine have 45 day return policys which happen to fall on Nov 1st so both are going back. In general even if they couldn't be returned we do enjoy our's greatly.

I think that is a mistake (my opinon); clearly, Apple themselves feel that the iPad 3 was a mistake/lemon/poor design. The early update, and the pricing of referbs below a new iPad 2 support this contention.

Look, Apple have now stepped up and fixed the iPad 3, w/ the iPad 4; just buy the iPad 4.
Except nothing was broken. It's just marketing for holidays. Unless I am missing the sarcasm.

Why it is terrible? I got ipad2 64gig first day it was available in 2011. Year later I got ipad3 32gig and my son become happy owner of ipad2 ;) Both working great and does job well. Why rubbish? I am happy Apple can make other people happy and I will postpone upgrades until ipad5.

Not upset at all. I planned on updating it in a couple of years unless something major comes along and this did not change that decision.

I still love the 3.

The iPads are selling like hot cakes. This is a sign that Apple is willing to give us the latest and greatest. It likely costs Apple a bundle to retool the production line for the new version. Apple would be better off financially if they continued to push the tried and tested model with which they have worked out all the kinks.

Apple never promised anyone a one year gap between products. Maybe this means we'll see the 4.5" iPhone 5S or 6 earlier than next Sept.

I bought the iPad 3 on launch day and dont regret the 6 months I have had with it.

Not gonna lie and I'm not whining. I really thought the next iPad would be a year away from the launch of the 3 (give or take). While I am not bothered too much it does make me think twice bout rushing out to buy the latest and greatest thing. Wonder how far we are away from the next iPhone? The 5-s may be out before the 5's can get stocked on te shelves.

The narcissism and sense of entitlement by some here is pathetic.

You're even too lazy to place the functioning and still very useful ipad on ebay, so you'd rather whine and b-tch about it. About how someone else is going to have the better ipad now.

Considering that scammers have 99 ways to rip off EBay sellers, plus all the fee's involved, the last place I'd sell an iPad 3 is on EBay.

Wow to me it just sounds like a whole lot of work to keep track of where exactly my tech stands versus where the next rollout will stand and yesterday's rollout stood, all for what? So I can manage the rolling stock on an ebay account? What a boring existence.

Actually I think most sane people just go out and do some homework when they realize their current gear is just not keeping up with something they use. Like web pages becoming too complex for old gear to load promptly, or a peripheral they would like to get but know it's not going to work with their older stuff, etc. Stuff like that signals "Whoa! Time to step it up a notch or two." It doesn't happen every six months, or even every year. Upgrade when you need to. That way you don't have get all fired up over nothing when some company brings something to market. I have often enough bought gear right before an updated model rolled out. So what? I homeworked the specs of what I bought and it met my needs so I bought it, case closed. I don't collect resentments or go looking for reasons to invent one either.

"Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" does have its advantages. It teaches patience, creativity, critical thinking. Beyond that it allows one to enjoy life even when money is tight and upgrades of anything past empty cereal boxes are pretty much out of the question. We all have ups and downs in our lives. Pegging so much expectation on not only having totally up to date gear but being able to turn profits on the previous gear seems like setting oneself up for anger and some really big disappointments down the road. Setting the bar a little lower lets me relax and not worry about the other guy's gear or how much my first gen iPad is worth today versus yesterday and last year.

Sell it, make most your money back, buy new one = happy

Nope. I am still buying 64 GB mini with wifi and cellular, so I can carry it everywhere, everyday, in my purse.

I have 64 GB on my iPad "3"...another computer in my house, as far as I am concerned. So one iMac, one iPad and now the mini. Works for me. Everything I do on one is saved on others. Love the whole ecosystem.

Had we all waited off and kept the Ipad 2 it would have helped..

All I can say is as much as I want the new model, I can't see a purpose for it..the new specs are nothing that can't be seen as natural updates for the next model like the lightning connector.

Just forked out £529 on a sim free Iphone 5 can't really justify another update (or should I say refresh)..

What is apple thinking seriously...
I am not worried about the ipad 4... what I am worried about is the support for my ipad3... they don't even have that on their website... the next iOS update is not gonna support ipad3 I guess...

apple getting too greedy...

Why wouldn't the next update support the iPad 3? It's essentially the same as the new one. If they just released a new iPad mini with lower specs than the 3rd Gen, I'm pretty sure we'll be fine. Quit worrying.

On another note, I am very surprised to see the pricing of the iPad 2 compared to the refurbished 3's. I would expect the 3's to be at $399 and the 2's to be $379. Who the hell would buy a 2 when they can get a better iPad for cheaper?

I have an aluminum macbook that was only around for a very short while. I still use it today and it doesn't effect me that newer "better" things are out.

Wow there is a lot of threads on this sort of thing. I bought a 64GB LTE iPad 3 on launch day.

Tell me why i should feel like i threw anything into the rubbish?

Its incredibly strange mentality imo.

I remember those!! I had just bought the old white plastic MacBook for my girlfriend at the time to replace her families dying laptop. Shortly after the aluminum body came out and I offered to exchange it for her, but she didn't think it was necessary. I always wondered why they even kept the plastic MacBook instead of going all aluminum.

We still have one of those at our house. Its the official backup MacBook should we need one, and only one of two that has Windows on it.

I love my iPhone 5, but I definitely feel ripped off on my iPad 3. My first mistake was that I got the 64GB WiFi + Cellular (Verizon) version. I realize now that I don't need 64GB. I also don't need Cellular since I'm mostly on a university campus. In addition, Verizon's customer service is god awful and there are countless problems with their SIMs expiring.

My second mistake is buying it without any need for it. Whenever I need to do some serious web-browsing, I'm at home with my custom-built computer that perfectly does everything I want/need. If I'm on the go, I have my iPhone with me or I'll always probably be close to a university computer lab, so there's no need for an in-between.

Now, I don't really feel cheated out by the iPad 4 except that now it'll be harder to sell my rare no-longer-on-the-market iPad 3.

After evaluating my needs, if I ever get another iPad it's going to be the iPad Mini. At 16GB, it's small, light, and a simple novelty that won't cause me buyer's remorse when the newest version comes out and I feel like I just wasted my almost $1,000.

Just my two cents.

Yes. I feel a multibillion dollar, multinational company personally screwed me over. My product is no longer usable. In fact I'm so enraged I'm going to start another thread on how Apple personally harmed me
