I buy new everything, I've had every iPad and iPhone. No way am I even remotely upset. I am very happy with my iPad 3, don't need anything on the new new iPad.

Yes. I feel a multibillion dollar, multinational company personally screwed me over. My product is no longer usable. In fact I'm so enraged I'm going to start another thread on how Apple personally harmed me

Make sure you also predict their impending demise and laund the imploding stock price. Its down to $612 today

I got mine in June. So far, I don't have any feelings about it. The so-called "new" iPad is only an iPad 3.5. The A6X might be faster in benchmarks, but in real world the difference is barely noticeable. The new FaceTime HD is nice, but I do not use FaceTime much, and when I do I use it on my iPhone or MBP.
Come a few years later, when Apple decided to kick iPad 3's support, I might feel it, as I did when the iPad 1 support was kicked (I bought the iPad 1 a month before iPad 2 announcement). But for right now, no.

No, stop crying.

Apple need to change to Lightning, might well as well upgrade a few other things.

In certain way I would, but just only for the A6X. I dont care much about the lightning port and such, but if I had bought the iPad 3 (which costs a LOT, almost like a windows laptop or mac mini if you get the bigger storage models) I would feel like I just threw 500$ to the rubbish.

The A6X will bring a noticeable difference, specially in the future iOS 7 and 8 updates.

Ipads are not cheap by any means. 500$ is the cheapest one. Imagine someone who bought the 32GB WIFI + LTE or the 64GB. That feeling would just be terrible.

Well there are two other products that were just released featuring the A5..the iPod Touch 5G and the iPad Mini.

This means developers are unlikely to suddenly drop support for the iPad 2, iPad 3 (A5X), iPod Touch 5G and iPad Mini just to develop for the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 (A6X).

So the iPad 3 (A5X) should be supported for quite awhile longer. The A6 can't be a game changer when Apple is using old tech on one part of the line and new tech on the other line.

Lightning port thing is just a joke and is in fact the reason I have yet to consider any of the new devices because I have so many 3rd party devices that use the old port that its not worth it. Further, I'm pissed at Apple for cornering the market with the lightning adapter and failing to allow 3rd parties to develop for it making a monopoly over the adapter so they can charge everyone a premium for a conversion adapter.

They "need"? I'm sorry but there isn't a single reason why anyone needs lightning over the standard connector. There is ZERO benefit over the old one (ok so it shaved 1/2 mm off already ridiculously thin devices) and was nothing but a marketing move in order to corner users into buying their conversion adapters that they will allow no other company to make.

Or, just sell the damn thing and don't lose $500. I mean, it still works ffs. Throwing 500$ to the rubbish is a bit of an over-reaction isn't it? if you feel that way you should toss that new iPad in the trash I guess

Bingo.

If you're that upset, go sell your iPad 3 and buy a new one...the wonders of a free market economy.
