I have many friends in the engineering or information technology field or just plain gadget or Apple lovers. I am still waiting for many of their replies in Facebook or private messages. I have to ask some people in real life who are not or will never be in my Facebook :p. However, many of my Apple fans friends who responded so far in Facebook or privately in emails or iMessage said they are getting at least one. At least 30 (and growing) said they are getting one at launch day or at some point (some have to see them in person or waiting for other details next week) ; at least half of them so far said they are sure getting one either for themselves and/or their partners and a few also for for their Apple gadgets loving one or more kids or siblings, the AW first gen on launch day or as soon it becomes available in their countries.

Interestingly, some of my friends so far who have Android or other devices or fllip-phones also said in my Facebook poll chimed in that they are very interested or love the form factor or looks of the AW might be or for sure switching or finally get Apple gadgets (including a passionate Apple hater)

The gadget lovers among them - many in the field of engineering or information technology, young and old, are very sure getting one or very interested or converting to Apple.

The latecomers to iPhones / smartphones / stopped or not wearing watches mostly (a few still holding legacies ) are the ones who are wait and see.

Not surprised, I am not the only one obsessing about it, especially the gadget-lovers or the ones in the technology field. I am not surprised, as well, that the latecomers in smartphones or those who hardly used their Facebook are the ones who do not know about it or very interested at first look or waiting on something. I am very surprised with the other devices switchers or Apple haters who are loving or liking what they saw with AW.

I do not know or nobody telling me voluntarily that they have other smartwatches now. I am not interested. :D

Dear Apple,

Bring it on - me and many of my gadget-loving friends need or cannot wait anymore for your A game especially with the Apple Watch to Apple Watch functionality.

Just like with the original iPhone, I will or should be able to convince them to get the AW asap - those among the "wait and see crowd" or do not have a clue about AW especially the ones active in social media or Facebook.

Other than these forums and tech websites, I've not seen the Apple watch mentioned anywhere else. No-one I know is talking about it or apparently cares about it.

I know two people who have previously owned smart watches. I've asked them if they'll be getting the iWatch and both have said no because they no longer use their smartwatch and neither actually have iPhones.

Have they said why they stopped using their Smartwatch?

That more or less sums up my experience. I was on holiday with a group of friends when it was announced and they asked me about it but didn't seem that impressed at the time.

No one I know has mentioned it since but that could change in the next few weeks as the hype machine hits top gear.

that's where you need to convince on the Health/Fitness side of things - she may be thinking it's just a watch ?! That's going to be my angle anyway! I'll be paying for it anyway....:D

I get her the latest iPhone every year so ya I would be paying for the watch as well. IF these things are cheaper than I'm expecting I may just her her one and see what happens. #

Haha they will care a lot after they see you walking around with a touch screen watch that you receive notifications on, text from, tweet from, receive calls from, and do so much more. Even with my Pebble, some people are completely WOWED when they see it, even though it just receives notifications. I've even been asked if it is the Apple Watch 2-3 times :)

Haha yep. That's how it works.

Because it did nothing his phone didn't already do and after putting it on a few times having forgotten to charge it he just got out of the habit. I guess his point is not having it doesn't mean he's missing anything.

Didn't ask the other guy.

I've started same thread on another webiste in my country and everybody says the same: They don't know anybody and won't buy it. I don't believe them:D

That's what they said with the original iPhone. :D

Their ugly flip-phones or landlines (especially many Americans) can make a call, lol.

----------

I miss the pre-Original iPhone days when the Apple Stores were my off-the-beaten oasis spots for my gadget fixes.

----------

Now the storyline even for iPhone lovers is, "my iPhones can do that!" Or their cheap and fugly Timex watch. :D

My friend seemed interested, but he's low on funds right now. My girlfriend might. I plan to show it off to my friends like the awesome Apple Salesman I am! :)

I don't know anyone unfortunately. One guy at my school showed interest at the beginning, but seems to have lost it now. Do you think it would be weird if I stopped random people in the halls (with apple watches) and asked to become friends to try it out? :) I may have to resort to that of none of my friends buy one...

If I see somebody with it I'll probably ask him/her to try Skatch, Tap and Heartbeat.

Girlfriend and sister are both day one owners like me, but I have a couple of friends that plan to eventually get one.

My wife is on the fence, but mostly because she thinks it will be too expensive for us both to get one. I can tell that she wants one, but if she thinks it's going to be too much money for both of us to get one she'd rather I have one, since I am far more excited and into it than she is. That being said, her birthday is in April and I may just surprise her and preorder one for each of us and not tell her until it arrives. If she balks I'll just remind her that it's a birthday present. The tricky part is trying to engage her in the idea enough that I can figure out which watch she wants.

You guys with family members who are interested as well are so lucky!! My family is annoyed with me talking about it(I do quite a bit) and completely uninterested :(

Oh, my wife is annoyed with me talking about it too. It doesn't mean that she doesn't want one, she just wants me to shut up about it and wait for it to come out. Once we have them on our wrists she'll be excited about it as well.

Ya my wife is sick of EVERY new Apple product long before it arrives as I typically talk her ear off with details. She is a trooper though having waited in line right along side me at probably the last 4 iPhone launches and the iPad 2 launch.

That being said she has ZERO interest in the :apple:Watch -- which will not preclude me from getting her one anyway! :) I want to use those watch to watch features!

You are my spirit animal. :)

I'm in the same boat as you. None of my friends or family have plans on getting one. The ones who have shown mild interest are also very unlikely to drop $350+ on a watch because they're not in a position to afford it.

You're welcome to add me to your contacts and we can tap/sketch/heartbeat each other. :D

I don't know anyone who will be getting one. I'm really sad about that and I've told my Android fanboy husband that I may run away with the first Apple Watch wearing man I meet, just for the pleasure of sharing heartbeats....

I was in the Edinburgh Apple Store a couple of days ago and they told me they had had huge numbers of people coming in to ask about the watch.

Since the keynote I've had conversations with a few friends about the :apple:Watch (or the iPhone Watch as most of them seem to call it.) so the publicity is starting to get the attention of the mainstream.

They still don't have much of a clue about what it actually does and none of them have shown any interest in purchasing one. It's still early days. :)

You don't need them. We're your family now ;)

I know three other guys that want one, but not sure due to pricing. One of them also has a wife that wants one, so he said he'll probably get it for her first.

I want one, but not sure if I want to spend 1099 for the one I WANT (black SS) and might get space grey sport instead.

My wife has wanted one since the September reveal, which is odd for her since she's NOT a tech lover at all. She could care less about the new iPhones or iPads. She just uses them when I get them for her. She originally fell in love with the rose gold, but even if it was only $3500, she would have said no on that. Now she wants the SS with modern buckle.

My workplace is filled with Apple fans, LOL, every day someone new asks me about the Apple Watch...

I'd say 10 of them will be buying so far.
