My wife and a guy from church. That's it though, but having my wife have one is ideal.

We decided it was better for us both to have a sport than for me to have a standard one at near enough the same cost as both having one actually adds features. going from sport to normal does not.

So far I've convinced my father to get one (not too hard considering he has been a fan of Apple since the IIe) and more recently a female coworker. She got the 6 after looking at mine and decided she wanted the :apple: Watch after I briefed her on the Keynote. So I will have at least 2 people to talk to. I doubt I'll use the heartbeat thing much but the taps and sketches will be fun to try. I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly but it still will be fun.

There was one girl at work who was going to get one. Until I showed her the price of the one she wanted. The gold with blue leather strap. She's out now. I'm the only person I know who will be getting one.

My friend seemed interested, but he's low on funds right now. My girlfriend might. I plan to show it off to my friends like the awesome Apple Salesman I am! :)

This.

I'm talking it up to my personal trainer and my best friend. My best friend is on the fence but if I can get her into the store I think I'll win her over. My husband needs to give up his 4s first -- that's a whole different issue.

novelty of sketches and heartbeat will definitely fade quickly, but I think tapping will be quite useful for long term. Easy way to get someone's attention from across a noisy room or across town, especially if you have a "tap pattern" that you use between you and your spouse. They wouldn't even need to look at the watch to know you're trying to get their attention or thinking about them.

One of my best friends said he is going to wait until I get mine to decide if he wants one. I presume he will, as he has seen how much I like my iPad and rMBP and bought both of those because of me

You don't need to be rich to get one, the starting price is a lot less than the latest iPhone.

My bad. I don't know why I was thinking the OP was referring to the $10,000 Edition version.

You are my spirit animal. :)

I'm in the same boat as you. None of my friends or family have plans on getting one. The ones who have shown mild interest are also very unlikely to drop $350+ on a watch because they're not in a position to afford it.

You're welcome to add me to your contacts and we can tap/sketch/heartbeat each other. :D

I will for sure!

Yep, I know people who are getting one. One of them is a friend who lives about an hour away, and she initiated my very first Facetime call when that first became available. :)

I'm sure I'll be getting all kinds of taps, sketches and cryptic coded messages.

I'll probably get my girlfriend one just depends on if it lives up to the hype after a week of usage.

Considering that Apple Watch has these special communication modes you can do watch-to-watch, do you know other people who plan on getting a watch, and if so, do you plan on using any of the watch-to-watch communications? Heartbeat? Animated emoji? Sketches? I think we can tap on the watch and the other person can feel the taps, am I right? Any other watch-to-watch communication modes I'm missing?

Yup.

I'm getting one. My wife is getting one. She's absolutely pumped about getting one. I fully plan on using the various 'digital touch' communications with her. They might be gimmicky, but even after 25 years of marriage, we're still goofy with each other that way. ;)

I worked hard to get 2 friends to say they'll get the Watch. I really wanted to be able to share certain features, experiences, and conversations with people, aside from online.

If your girlfriend said "hon, that rose gold Apple Watch with the matching leather band looks fantastic on my arm, don't you think? I would love to have one." Would you:
a. Said that you will buy one for her
b. Said that she should get one herself
c. Said that Android alternative is better
d. Said nothing

Yes, my friend Alice. The only one of my friends who 1) likes the :apple:Watch and 2) Supports my decision on getting the rather more expensive SS one.

Most people I know haven't heard of it or don't think it does anything special. Its hard to explain to them the most important things that the watch does, because I love it due to the culmination of all its features, not just one.

I agree, it's a bit difficult explaining to them the watch and what it can does.
