Do you leave your Apple Watch on silent all the time?

Yes. My phone too. I don’t like it when devices make noises. I do keep haptic on.

One of the things I like most about my phone is the silent switch.

That’s interesting idea about Airplane Mode, do you find it saves the battery significantly. I might have to try that out myself.
I think it saves on battery to a degree. My main reason for doing it is to silence all activity and not have Wifi and Bluetooth signals bouncing around while I’m sleeping. If you go into settings on the Watch, you can set what Airplane Mode turns off (Wifi and/or Bluetooth).

Well if you always keep it in silent mode, a toggle in settings would suffice I would imagine, flip it once and be done with it.

I use both modes on and off on both my watch and phone, it depends on where I am and what I’m doing.

Apple Watch only and always in silent mode. iPhone with ringtones while I’m on call: always during the nights, during the days in the last year because I’m not using my AW often now.

Yes, that switch is unused and redundant for me. Would love if it could be changed to rotate switch like on the early iPads.

There are occasions where I do flip the switch back. Like when I know that I am going to have to pick people up but not exactly when. Then after I get the text to come, I just flip that little switch back off.

I keep mine on silent all the time. Being somewhat on the spectrum, having it beep and make noise contributes on an over stimulation of my brain. A simple vibrate is fine enough. And on that topic, the only 2 things that I allow notifications from is phone and messages. I don’t live that interesting of a life to be bugged with anything else.

Watch silent but phone ringtone on. Some notifications don’t come through on the Watch so if I haven’t got my phone on me I need to hear it go off (WhatsApp calls).

If they ever bring notifications to the Watch for that then I’ll go silent on both devices!

I don't use WhatsApp, but it sound strange. Try check the the Watch app (on iPhone)->Notification and what setting WhatsApp has for notifying on Apple Watch.

I’ve tried everything. You only get alerts on the Watch after you’ve missed a call. Watch set to mirror iPhone for all settings but it looks like WhatsApp app development would be needed to allow for the notifications. If anyone has a solution I’m all ears!
