It's not bad. Sometimes it's frustrating as hell, and truthfully, I would rather be doing something else. It's fairly satisfying though, and occasionally entertaining.

I like my job quite a bit. My co-workers are all pretty cool, which makes being on the road a lot more fun. And you can't beat the view. :)

The only down side is the crazy schedule - except when I take some time off, I never know where I'll be from one day to the next. I only work maybe 12-13 days per month, but you never know which 12-13 days it'll be. That makes it hard to plan anything.

I love both my jobs, but wish they PAID MORE!

Radio ain't what it's cracked up to be, I'll tell ya.. sheesh...

My day job is IT for a public school district. For the most part, I enjoy it. I work with really good people, and most of the kids are really cool. When I started there almost 10 years ago, went into one of 1st grade classes to work on a computer. All the kids turned around to look at me, and one of them whispered "Are you the computer genius?". :D Gotta love it.

My second job is in minimum wage retail. For the most part, it sucks, but we need the money. The people I work with are mostly cool, so it's ok. It's also a sporting goods store, so that helps, along with the discount I get. Let's just say the discount is so good, that's where I do most of my birthday/Christmas present shopping for my kids. :p

Currently, I'm kicking around the idea that there may be something else I want to do with my life. I'm not sure what though. Organic farmer? Build bicycles? Sit around and get fat (wait, already there)?

Yes i enjoy my work, teach IT skills to the old & people with learning disabilities, very rewarding

Amen, brother.

Even though I am "retired", I too deal with the elderly, blind, disabled, ill, every week.

I have never been happier, and that's a tough thing to admit to one's self.

:D

I like my job. I work in my town library's circulation department. I've learned a lot about people since I started the job. You've got your total jerks that will basically threaten your life over a 5¢ overdue fee, and then there's the people that will have a nice little chat with you. Plus, some of the little kids are funny. For example:

Kid's mom="Grab your books and say thank you to the nice man.";
Kid="Cookie.";

Or when the kids use these Clifford DVD cases as paddles and start whacking each other with them.

I like what I do. The politics and management that go on around it, not so much.

No, but it is my own fault. I took the job quickly to get out of a bad situation. Law firm PR could be great, but there is a lot of pressure complicated by the office environment. I think if I could do the same work without the same environment I might like it.

However, I understand my discontent is my own making. I'm very passive and I let my officemate walk over me. It's like being 13 again and having the bully sit next to you. She constantly puts me down, but instead of saying anything I take it. She then plays up to the director, has a papercut and is allowed to go home - I rip out half my cornea and still have to come in. I should have put my foot down or gone to human resources, even if to complain that after 18 months I have not had one vacation day approved. But, I instead just complain to myself and be the victim.

The job itself is great in the fact that I get to learn about all the different aspects of business and strategize on how to promote our message to the press. It's great to pitch an idea to a reporter and then see it in the NYT the next day. I just have to learn how to be a stronger person, stop being the victim and enjoy life perhaps in order to like the job.

Despite having a college degree (in graphic design) I work full time in retail, and absolutely HATE my job. It controls my life and drains me of all my energy.

But it is a paycheck so what can you do.

I'd have to say yes. I work independently from home (bedroom to office: 3 feet), travel extensively (some say excessively), don't get locked into any particular routine, have some pretty good bosses, and receive a minimum of BS in general.

I get to spend most of my non-travel days trolling MR, so how bad can it be? ;)

That sounds like a top job, and not getting alot of "BS" is a good thing. I would have to say yes i like my job, we are now promoting "managed services" which is very exciting. Also my boss came up to me the other day and goes " i wanna give you a bonus. What is it that you want. I said a Mac pro. he goes well get me the details and we will work out costings and see what i have to do to earn it." it was originally going to be money but i would rather a mac pro

im 16, i work for my dad out of town doing construction(building gas stations) and i hate it. i get up at 5am and get home late. had a 13hr shift yesterday:p but its greaaaat money. i make 15$ an hour and get 45$ a day for food. i made 960$ in the last 4 days. :D

i don't love my job. i don't hate my job. i'm rather indifferent to it. the pros and cons are pretty even and balance out with one another. that be said. i'd certainly prefer this job to others out there.

Excuse me for saying so, but at 16 this is a heavy burden to bare.

I would suggest that you have a long heart-to-heart with your father, regarding your long-term goals in life.

He might be surprised to learn that they differ from his own.

my actual job...i love it
i'm a professional ballet dancer
seriously. its awesome.

where i work....sometimes i dont love it.

My job is school and, as of right now, I don't like it at all. But for the most part, I like it fine. Better than being in the real world. ;)

I love my jobs. I'm a TA for a subject called Animal Biology Lab, where we study animal anatomy, morphology, diversity, evolution and dabble in phylogeny. I basically have to know a bit about every animal group that exists. :p I love teaching and working with students, even if some of them have been three times my age!

My other job is as a scientific photographer/researcher for a medical entomology lab. I get to combine my photography hobby with my love for studying insects. How much cooler can a job be? :D

It still has its cons, like professors who blame you for stuff that's not your fault, but all in all it's great. :)

(well, when they start paying me, it'll be cooler, but it's still a cool job )

I did graphic design for a while when I retired from the military. That crap of designing something, client changes it, you change it to what the client wanted, and then they change it again, just drove me INSANE!

I really hate my job. I work in a call centre for the most expensive water company in the country so i have to take calls all day from angry customers asking why i'm ripping them off. I'm only there because it pays the mortgage but that's about to come to an end so i'll be quitting and hopefully trying to go self employed as a freelance photographer. I'll be able to work my own hours and only have to answer to myself!! i can't wait!!

I hate my job, i mean HATE!!!

the only upside is the educational discount i get from apple!!!

I work in an Art college where the staff are so far off what is contemporary that it amazes me people still apply to come to it!

If had known what i know now i would not have studied what i did, animation, as the course offers no hope of a decent job once graduated.

I am lucky that they offered me a job because i was so good with all of the technical side of things!

The management of the college are so out of touch with what goes on in the departments that they dont seem concerned with what is wrong with the place.

All of this and the fact that the guy i work under hates his job too and projects his negativity onto me.

He is the technician and he and the head of our department hate each other, which just makes day to day work unbearable.

Not only that but they use PCs and the techie hates macs so swears against them!!!
:(

generally, I like my job. I worked at an auntie anne's pretzel place making 6.50 an hour, but my boss is nice and is flexible with my schedule, and I get all the free pretzels I want.

Sometimes though, on occasions like memorial day, where I had to work a 10 hour day....I hate it, because I get sick of the people I work with, and start hating customers. A person can smile and take orders from idiots for only so long.

I'm work as a freelance consultant designing Windows infrastructure solutions. Might be boring for some but I enjoy it meeting new people in new places all over Europe.

:D i know its tough stuff. getting up early is the worst and the fact that the internet in the motel im in has like a 2.0Kb/s connection speed. it took me 5 minutes to load this page :D

he knows just as well as i know that i do not want this to be my profession. he didnt want it to be either but he decided to stick with it when he was young cus he made good money and was single. he didnt marry till somewere around 40 haha so it was too late to change his career. i am only doing this because its great money and helps me build strengh and other good life skills.
im working all summer, except for my 4 day trip to boston :). but i am only working, like i said, for the money. almost all of the money i make this summer will go into photography gear. i plan on attending the Academy of Art university in San Fran and to get in i need money, and alot of it so once next year after i graduate i will work for him for 14 months and all that money will go towards school because i feel i need to pay for at least 75% of it.

ya so thats about it. bottom line is the money is too good to refuse and i could use it. :D thanks for your reply my fellow canadian!

Ps i wrote this last night and had to cpy and pste this morning cus the internet was too slow and wouldnt load the page lol

I used to hate my job. My boss was a pretentious muppet who made my life miserable. Nothing was ever organised or arranged and a lot of my time was wasted. My contract ran out and I was more than happy to go somewhere else.

I've recently begun working full time for a media company in the Netherlands as a Graphic Designer...and I absolutely love it!!
