Do you regret purchasing an Apple Watch?

I'm finding that I'm using my phone a whole lot less! I love the ability to have my notifications, my messages, everything on my wrist! No regrets from me!

On the fence.. For fitness, Im starting to not want it anymore. I see more and more complaints about accuracy.. Which is the MAIN reason why I want it..

I want to be disconnected from my phone, so I prob won't turn on text/call notifications. I think ill just be paying for an awesome watch to tell time on lol.

I guess it depends on what you want it for. In my case it's basically a motivational tool that shows me when I've been moving my body and roughly how much, so the exact readings aren't that important. I haven't noticed any issues with accuracy, but I'm not very demanding in that sense so maybe I just haven't noticed.

I think you made a poor purchase if you want to be disconnected from your phone. Notifications are a huge part of what make a smartwatch appealing in my opinion.

I've had mine since 24 April (was one of the lucky ones :)) and have absolutely no regrets.

I purchased the 42mm SS version will Milanese Loop and complimented it with a white sport band which arrived last week. I love both bands - will probably mainly wear the M loop during the working week and then the sports band at weekends, but it's weird - people didn't necessarily notice it was an Apple Watch when I wore the loop but 2 days with the sports band and people are coming up to me asking if it is indeed an Apple Watch!

Overall it works way better than I could have expected and both bands are extremely comfortable. I haven't worn a watch for a couple of years so was worried it would be a burden on my wrist: not so!

There are still a few software bugs, and I really wish they would hurry up and release a few more watch faces, but it looks great and i am finding it genuinely very useful.

Problem for me now is that I like the look of the classic buckle and blue leather loop, but at £129 each I'm stalling quite a bit!

Regret purchasing it?

I didn't want to get an Apple Watch at first but being a sucker I just had to try it out. It is without a doubt a neat device (because its new and different of course). It is a motivator for me when it comes to being active.

The only thing I regret is the price I paid for the watch. The price point is a tad high for my liking, but it is what it is.

Overall I enjoy the watch, though I do wear it in rotation.

They would have sold a ton more and made a ton more $ if the price point stayed 350-500 (excluding the gold which is also over priced)

I love my Apple watch for these reasons :
1. It tells time
2. It looks fashionable and fits me very well
3. The bands are easily interchangable
4. It improves the process of messaging, mails, calls etc... (convinience)
5. It tracks my fitness and helps to improve my health
6. It wakes me up in the morning without waking up the rest of the family (Taptic feedback alarm)
7. It can change watch faces vs. my Tag Heuer (which can't)
8. It gives me joy and satisfaction just by looking at it
9. It gives me directions while I am driving
10. In general, it improves my day to day activities

I hate my Apple watch for these reasons :
1. It is too expensive!
2. There are to many choices!
3. It makes me flick my wrist like a mad man (quite seldom)
4. It does not make phone calls but can receive them...
5. 3rd party apps take years to load up...
6. It does not have enough watch faces to choose from
7. It's STicky digital crown!
8. It's bands are too expensive
9. It does not ship with a dock (I had to make one myself using lego)
10. It's emoji just freaks me out
11. It's watch face display is too short

Ecstatically I love my Apple Watch. I conclude that I have no regrets buying it. But I do hope that Apple fix some of the common issues for this watch, SOON!

10 emoji freak you out ? LOL!!! I haven't got mine yet but it is on way next week

I will be purchasing one, once it hits the stores. I bought 5 and re-sold them all for profit. Figured I wouldn't get much use out of the watch since I barely get notifications and stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing what is announced monday in terms of O.S.. But for now, the watch isn't gonna be much for me except a time keeping device. And for that, I rather spend less.

Yes I can and I have been doing that. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. What I meant was there is no option to "dial" a number that I wanna call. I can only make calls to people who are already in my contacts list.

"Hey Siri, Dial number 1-123-555-1212"......you're welcome! :D

Edit: Actually, the easiest way to make the call with Siri on the watch is to say CALL and then say the area code and number without the 1.

Yes, I do know about Hey Siri to make a call, but it just feels weird asking Siri to call dial-a-date in a crowded bus ride... I want privacy and having a 'dial' pad would be nice update.

lol, yep, dial pad would be a nice addition, I agree...dont know why they didnt do that in the first place, seems obvious...I mean they have the passcode number pad, why not include for the phone.

Nope, don't regret it. It's great! If texts and WhatsApp messages come in I just just glance at them on the watch, if they warrant a response then the phone comes out, if not, then it doesn't. The heart rate monitor is accurate when running. I used my watch along side a Polar chest strap that communicated with the treadmill, the watch and strap were always within 5bpm of each other.

I have heard the HRM is no good for weight training as when you weight train the muscles can expand around the arteries and make their expansion/contractions less "visible" to the watch so it gives false low readings, but it was never sold as something to be used when weight training. It's primary fitness uses are cardio, which it works well with.

Also thought I would never, ever use the call feature, but it did come in handy yesterday. My phone was upstairs and I was on the treadmill. Had just finished a run and was on my cool down when a call came in. Answered it on my watch and continued my cool down while talking, all the time the fitness app was running in the background, still taking in data.

I also love the fact that when I do go for a run on the treadmill I don't need my phone next to me for music, just a set of Bluetooth earphones and I have a playlist on my watch that I listen to.

Haptic notifications are great. I've been in noisy environments where I would have easily missed my phone go off in my pocket as a text came in, but not so with the watch. However in saying that I have missed a few notifications here and there, but it's not an issue. I check the time quite often anyway (just habit) and if I have a missed notification there is a little red dot at the top of the watch face to alert me, and I can just swipe down to see what it is. Means I don't need to keep checking my phone for missed messages, etc which I was really bad for.

Overall I am very happy with it. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It is not a "must have" gadget, but it is very useful and after using it I wouldn't want to be without it.

No regrets. I only shelled out $350. I've spent more on sport coats that I DID wonder how the hell I managed to buy much less wear looking back at pictures. I'm talking Rodney Dangerfield Caddy Shack ugly. Yes, THAT is true regret.

But I don't think AW is worth more than $350 at the point. It's def. and early adopter, work-in-progress device. Maybe (hopefully) WWDC will give us something to accelerate the maturation process.

Good point! I can't recall the times I've spent money on a bad meal or bad experience. As much as the SS is nice, it's still the same type of watch across the board. Sport is defiantly the way to go if you just want to "try it out".

If you want privacy to dial on a crowded bus, then why would you want to have a conversation into a watch?

I'm considering buying an Apple Watch myself but yet I'm not so convinced of usefulness of that thing. Now that some people have received their Apple Watches, what are your thoughts afterwards about the purchase? Do you regret it or does the Apple Watch justify its price?
Don't see it as a watch at all only as a micro iPhone minus
