I tried sleeping with the Ultra and it was uncomfortable. Maybe it’s something that you have to get used to. I’m thinking of getting the Oura Ring for sleep tracking for this reason. A ring on your finger is much more comfortable than a watch. The only downside with Oura is that there is no haptic alarm and the $6 monthly fee.

I don't have the Ultra. But I've been wearing Apple Watch 24 hours a day for the last few years. I check my sleep data, heart rate and breathing while I sleep. I started that when I was on my S6, then S7, both 41mm. I just traded up to S8 45mm and it doesn't feel any different while sleeping than the smaller size. And when I do need an alarm I silence the watch and the vibrating wakes me up just fine.

I do every night, don’t notice it. I’m used to sleeping with the stainless steel though so maybe that’s why the weight doesn’t bother me.

I tried my series 6 sleep tracking just to see what my REM was doing… but for whatever reason I had less restful sleep.

I feel much better not having a watch on.

I’ve heard the Ultra is too bulky to sleep with.

I do it every now and then, but an issue I face is I won’t have enough battery to last the whole day. I know fast charging exists, but I use an S5, which doesn’t have it(or at least I don’t think so).

the best thing for me is the alarm on the Watch. it has improved my awake ability ten fold. With an audible alarm I always want to go back to sleep or need to snooze. With the haptics on the Watch, i wake without needing to snooze.

Yes. Not really super into the sleep stats but I’ve almost always slept with a watch on. Some watches are less comfortable than others though, obviously. I have no issues sleeping with an Apple Watch on.

I think when I was regularly wearing a G-Shock I took that off to sleep. I suspect the Ultra I might too, if I had it.

If you don’t want the sleep tracking then it’s just personal preference. If you do want sleep tracking then get used to it or get a smaller one.

I sleep with my Apple Watch 6 for two reasons: I wear glasses and I have a very bad memory. - So I use the Mickey Mouse screen to tell me what time it is. And if some thought comes up while lying there in the dark I use the app Drafts on my watch to dictate this thought (they are simple at night!). Drafts turn dictation into typed text which then is available automatically on my iPhone, iMac and iPad in the morning. My language is one of the "smaller" languages which Apple don't support (so well). But Drafts have no problems.

I’ve always slept with my Apple Watch on. The ability to snooze the alarm from my wrist is worth its weight in gold. I like that there’s a flashlight function that works great at night. The sleep tracking is just a bonus.

I’ve got an Ultra now, and it doesn’t bother me at all. One of the benefits I saw in the Ultra is that the longer battery life gets me through the day and night quite easily.

Speaking of the flashlight— anyone know how to get it to default to red rather than starting always a white and having to flip through to red?
