I was used to sleeping with a big automatic diver so switching to the Ultra was no trouble. Never had trouble sleeping though so takes more than a watch to affect it.

I tried a few times to do that, but I just can’t fall asleep (may be some signals or the frequency of the components inside that kept me awake). I’m wearing the sports loop and it’s very comfortable(I don’t even feel it’s there on my wrist)

no problem sleeping with my S8 using a braided solo loop. The fast charging makes it possible, since I can just charge when I shower and get ready in the morning.

Actually i haven’t give it a thought about sleeping with my AW.
Currently I charge the Watch during night, but why not try it?
I can charge it 1 hour in the morning, and it will be plenty of battery during the day.😊

For you that sleeps with your watch, how much battery will it drain during the night?
I know it depends on battery health and the model, but in general?

last night I wen tot sleep with the  watch, woke up and hour earlier, had to turn off the sleep function to see the time.
my grey cat saw this jump in th ebed and wanted to get pet.
so I got out of bed an extra hour, but fell asleep earlier than usual.
now I need to find out how much sleep I had I guess on the iPhone.

I have slept with my Watch on since Apple introduced sleep tracking on the S5, I’m now on the Ultra and it’s on my wrist too. I didn’t really notice any difference when sleeping with it compared to my old S5.

I leave my screen active while sleeping, but when going to bed I turn off "wake on wrist up". I usually wake up a few times during the night so I just touch the screen if I want to check the time. That way it's not turning on with my movements. But the watch will continue to collect sleep data until the "turn off" time.

I use it for sleep using my 41mm S7 but the battery drain overnight using this is like 10%.
Well, that’s why you need at least 30% to use sleep tracking anyway. Can’t expect a feature that monitors your every minute for 8 hours straight to not consume 10% or more.

Put it in theater mode. It will default to red.
I’ve always slept with my Apple Watch on. The ability to snooze the alarm from my wrist is worth its weight in gold. I like that there’s a flashlight function that works great at night. The sleep tracking is just a bonus.

I’ve got an Ultra now, and it doesn’t bother me at all. One of the benefits I saw in the Ultra is that the longer battery life gets me through the day and night quite easily.

Speaking of the flashlight— anyone know how to get it to default to red rather than starting always a white and having to flip through to red?
Red Flashlight: had the same question, but just realised that one can automate this with shortcuts. Just built it and will try tonight :)

That did it! Before I’d set up the sleep focus, I’d put it in theater mode before bed, and got the red by default. I set up sleep on the new watch and the default went back to white. I just assumed I forgot how I got it set to red— I never would have guessed that it was tied to theater mode…. 😄

I don’t sleep with my watch on. It sits on the charger each night. My experiences with sleep tracking with a Fitbit watch proves that I am neurotic. I lose sleep by thinking about how I am not asleep yet and wondering if the watch was thinking I was asleep because I hadn’t moved for awhile. So then I would move my wrist to show it I was awake. I have read articles about how sleep tracking can interfere with actual sleep for this reason, so i stopped after moving on to GARMIN, which had the worst sleep tracking of any device I’ve ever seen. Now I track my sleep by how I feel the next day. I usually feel like crap, so I know that’s how I sleep. It’s a low tech solution, but it works. 😂

are you not on the latest watchOS? the screen goes into the same mode as charging when on sleep focus.. and you hold the crown to unlock your watch face... seeing time while on sleep mode shouldn't be a problem

I recharge my s5 late evening, so I usually go to bed with it at 100%.
It usually loses 20-25% overnight.

I sleep with my Ultra as a poor man’s Whoop (in that I’d rather pay once for the watch, rather a monthly subscription). Every morning I check Resting HR, HRV and Wrist Temp Deviation. I do cycling workouts for 2 to 4 hours per day. While I can usually go by feel for when I need a rest day, or an easy day, changes to my RHR, HRV and Temp can be early indicators of fatigue. I assume at some point Apple will add some sort of fatigue/stress/readiness predictor score similar to Garmin and Whoop, but for now the Apple Watch tells me what I need to know.

Yes every night

I use the braided loop which for me is easily the most comfortable band for sleeping
