There's no option for people who haven't but would.

I plan to try it if Prop 19 passes.

...just so I'm clear...

Yes means weed get approved while No means it doesn't? Just don't wanna get it mixed up and confused....just like how for prop 8 a while ago no meant yes and yes meant no.

You are correct. Yes on 19 = Yes to Taxation and Regulation of Cannabis.

I'm not sure what to think about it personally. I do not know how it addresses the issue of production as it seems primarily geared toward small (<1 oz) possession. I do not live in California.

Thank you for the link. I'm not too sure personally on the props details; only what i've heard others mention in passing. But local news shows that numerous growers up north are already trademarking names and weed products.

Again, I haven't yet read up on the issue direct from prop 19 but have heard that if it passes, it won't mean that weed can be sold in stores just yet...just that if you're caught with it it won't be illegal up to 1oz. That and the same rules apply as with alcohol, as in you can't smoke weed and go driving or have it out in public.

Thanks for the concise clarification. I'd read a bit elsewhere but it was just too much jargon, Now I feel a bit more clearer about what was going on. So eh, indica is like cheap Thunderdog or 20/20 or a McDonalds and sativa is like a fine wine or a decent port :D

Shame I don't really have any plans to start smoking again, but at least if I find myself back in Amsterdam in the future, I'll know what to look for.

You're talking here about the difference between indica and sativa. Older times it was the sativas making the rounds that had a cleaner headier high and grew easy outside in an equatorial climate (lots of back-in-the-day pot came from mexico and south america). As the drug war ramped up and importing became more difficult, entrepreneurs learned that indicas are on average easier to grow indoors and outside at higher latitude and they yield more weight per plant than their tall and lanky sativa sisters, so the regular commercial buds you see on the market these days, the afghan derived strains especially, your kushes and g13 crosses and the like, are going to have the more indica traits of lazy sleepy narcotic high. Better for pain relief and appetite stimulation but not as good for socializing. True sativas are less common due to the more specific environmental conditions they prefer and the fact that they can take up to a third longer to finish than your average indica, but the choice is there, especially if you're in a cannabis friendly region.

Basically the rules say you can only smoke at home without children present

LOL I tried weed once about 6 years ago. This girl I dated wanted me to smoke with her, so I did. We smoked 2 joints and 3 bowls back to back. I was BAKED. Of course that would be the moment she wanted to watch "Pink Floyd The Wall". I was so freaked out, but I couldn't even move! I was pretty much paralyzed for about 2-3 hours...

Haven't smoked it since, although I have no problem with people that do smoke it. I know its not the worst thing for you. I just didnt like it myself...

I really don't see how getting lung cancer from smoking spliffs isn't a case of the drug directly killing someone. Unless it has to be by a bale of weed falling on you in a dealer's warehouse...

Out of 10s of thousands of drugs ... Cannabis is the only one with No OD level that will cause death ... even Aspirin has an OD death level ... why is Cannabis even labeled a Drug and not a Herbal Remedy?

Too much life, not enough time.

Smoke the herb, while experiencing life.

On the other note, weed has an od level, it's just rediculously high that it's impossible for someone to consume that much. Also there have been NO human fatalities as a result from od'ing on Marijuana.

Example, taken directly from the THC Wiki page:
"There has never been a documented human fatality from overdosing on tetrahydrocannabinol or cannabis.[17] Information about THC's toxicity is derived from animal studies. The toxicity depends on the route of administration and the laboratory animal. Absorption is limited by serum lipids, which can become saturated with THC, mitigating toxicity.[18] According to the Merck Index, 12th edition, THC has an LD50 (dose killing half of the research subjects) value of 1270 mg/kg (male rats) and 730 mg/kg (female rats) administered orally dissolved in sesame oil.[19] The LD50 value for rats by inhalation of THC is 42 mg/kg of body weight.[19] One estimate of THC's LD50 for humans indicates that about 1500 pounds (680 kilograms) of cannabis would have to be smoked within 14 minutes.[20] This estimate is supported by studies which indicate that the effective dose of THC is at least 1000 times lower than the estimated lethal dose (a "therapeutic ratio" of 1000:1). This is much higher than alcohol (therapeutic ratio 10:1), cocaine (15:1), or heroin (6:1).[21]"

1500 lbs in 14 minutes, me thinks not.

And for the record I smoke daily. I love weed and think it's the best thing that happened to me (I have social anxiety disorder). It has allowed me to interact with people and feel normal without getting a panic attack. Sativa right from the time I wake and throughout the day, Indica before I go to sleep.

I also drive my GSXR stoned and know without a doubt that I'm 100% in control. It's definitely not for everyone and certainly not everyone should drive after smoking. Like anything else in life you have to know your own body and what you are realistically capable of.

And yes, vaporizing is the way to go! :D All the THC without any other carcinogens or chemicals from the smoke. Tastes great and makes your bud last longer.

In college... It's everywhere!

I did it occasionally in high school. I abstained for a year and a half because my girlfriend doesn't like it. But half way into the second semester of my freshman year of college I tried it again.

I don't do it every day. I abstain when I'm with my girlfriend or family. I only do it when I'm with friends and have all of my work done. I'm not addicted. (Example: I had plenty of opportunity to do it last night, but had work to do so I just stayed in for the night.) Schoolwork > Weed.

It bothers me when the non-smoking community (ex.: my girlfriend) hates weed "just because." Give me some concrete reasons why you don't like it based on evidence, then I'll accept why. Until then, they're all just hypnotized by the government's BS propaganda.

Amen. And also all of the extra conservatism, traditionalists and all thanks to the media.

I used to smoke quite a bit when I was in high school and throughout undergrad and post-grad. It was a good way to wind down after a long day of classes and studying. The best part was that I could be totally functional the next day because of the lack of hangover.

I stopped because it just became something that I did less and less, and then I just stopped. Also, the friends that I was spending more time with didn't smoke. I guess I just found other ways to be entertained.

My wife was never into it, I think we smoked a joint once together..... she got all paranoid, it was quite funny.:D That's probably another reason I don't anymore.

However, if I was at someone's house or at a concert or a party, and a joint was going, I wouldn't hesitate to pull from it a little if it was offered to me.

I hope it gets legalized in my lifetime......

One year later.......

Larry, I'm back in the race.:p

It's a pretty amazing experience being able to go into a pot dispensary and choosing from dozens of strains of top-quality stuff instead of getting hooked up by a friend of a friend of a friend. And then being able to buy it legally and pay for it with your credit card if you choose to!

I love CA.:D

I did for the first time like 2 weeks ago. In my second semester of college. Stressful times and peer pressure. I've always said no to weed, for about 3 years. I finally caved. I didn't get high though.

I didn't get high though.

Neither did I the first time I tried it. The second time I tried it I didn't notice anything either, until the local park that we were driving past seemed to go on and on and on ... and the red light we stopped at seemed like it would never turn green.
