Love it, feels great in hand and looks so premium compared to the others.

Honestly, the best iPhone since the iPhone X and definitely up there as best ever next to the 4/4S, 5/5S and X for me.

The "compromises" are mostly people just trying to justify buying the Pro every single year without fail and when it is just an iPhone 11-16 Pro in a new cheap wrapper.

I thought I was missing out on something amazing and got the 17 Pro and it was no different to the last 6 years of pro phones, returned and got the Air.

A Writer for 9to5mac said it best, the Air is for those that are bored of iPhone and want something new, fresh and a love for design.

It’s great that you love the air and I’m very happy for you. But you can profess your love for the air without putting down and insulting those that choose the pro, come on do better

Purchased a 17 Pro Max when it was released. Very good phone and has a Samsung screen. Only complaint it was too heavy for extended use. Purchased an Air in November and it came with a bad LG display. Swapped out a couple of times and everyone had a bad display. Returned the Air. Last week tried my luck one more time with the Air. To my surprise, it came with a Samsung display every bit as good as my 17 Pro Max. Using my Air as my daily driver and love it.
How to check for that?

I got an iPhone Air from my employer, so no difficult decision making process for me. I'm coming from an iPhone 13.

I love the weight and larger display. Single camera doesn't bother me at all, it's a great camera and I rarely used the wide angle anyway. The center stage front camera is also really good, didn't know the Air had it and was pleasantly surprised. The battery life might be worse than iPhone 17 but it's still a lot better than my 13.

Only real downside for me is the single speaker. It's sufficient but noticeably worse, feels like going back a decade.

If I would buy a phone with my own money I would probably not buy it because the 17 is cheaper and more capable. But the Air is still an amazing phone.

I have had mine since launch, and I love it. Battery life is great, love the weight, and it still looks like new even though I never use a case. I really hope Apple continues to update this model. I haven't liked a phone as much as this since my old XS.

Same on every count. I’ll be sad to see it discontinued like the mini.

My battery is at 100% health still as well even after 245 cycles (I use it for zoom, hotspot, work badge, and more. I rip through battery quickly). My 14PM was 92% at this point.

Since the X? The X was cutting edge. The Air is cutting features at a premium.

I’ve never owned a Pro iPhone. My gripe with the Air is that it should be priced less than the 17 as it’s inferior to it in most categories that matter in a smartphone.

I agree, the air should have been priced at $849 at least.

I think what they mean is the newness of the air. Like the X, the air is a new design

I’m also at 100% with 238 cycles. Do you fully charge daily? I limit mine to 80% because most weekdays it is on a MagSafe charger the majority of working hours.

Same. Mine is at 100% health with 86 cycles, with me having this phone 106 days so far. I limit at 80%, keeping the phone on my MagSafe duo when not in use. It actually fits better on the MagSafe duo than my two previous Pro models did because the camera plateau is not so close to the MagSafe ring.

I typically don’t believe in doing the whole battery charge limit thing, but you have presented one of the best reasons why people should: when you have your phone consistently plugged in on a stand or something 👌
Makes a lot of sense.

Love mine

I’m at 176 cycles 100%.

It rarely goes below 50 because it’s on my car charger most of the day.

245 cycles in 175 days seems like a lot. What are your charging habits? That means you’re charging your phone almost 1.5 times a day

Got mine in November and I really love it. I came from a 16PM and while the pro cameras were great, I found I wasn't using them as much as I thought I would and the phone was just cumbersome to carry around. The lightness and thinness of the Air makes carrying it throughout the day much easier. I find the battery life to be perfectly fine, and the single speaker doesn't bother me at all.
While many have mentioned that the Air has too many compromises, what we have to understand is that every phone is a compromise in one way or another. While the Air may sacrifice pro cameras for lightness and thinness, the Pro Max sacrifices portability for more pro features. It's not possible for one phone to have it all, otherwise Apple would only need to make one phone. I love the pro phones and all of the amazing things they can do, but the Air harkens back to the original days of the iPhone when the design just makes you say, 'wow.'

It is a lot, for the reasons I provided (mostly hotspot and zoom calls). I am charging about 1.5 times per day. I was doing the same on my Pro Max devices too, though I’m sure it was more like 1.25 charges per day instead of 1.5 due to the larger battery.

I charge to 100% overnight, let my battery drain as I go around the offices and do whatever I need to do at work, then charge back up to 70% or so at 4:30 before I head home for the day.

Asking if strangers on a forum like their phone and using those subjective reason answers as a basis for purchase is illogical. It doesn't matter whether other strangers like their phone. They should have no say in any financial decision the OP makes in regards to the Air. And yet, the OP is wanting to give complete strangers that kind of power.

It makes more sense for the OP to go to the Apple Store, if one is near by, and test the phone in person. If that isn't enough time, the OP should purchase the Air and test it further during the return period deadline. The OP should not be looking to strangers to help make a buying decision.
Or they can do whatever they want and you should worry about your life, not anyone else’s.

My carrier in Canada has the Air on for $0 with certain plans. I’m paying $45 for the Air and 250GB of data per month.

It’s odd, Apple basically has zero advertising for the Air besides Apple.com

When people see my Air they are confused as to what it is lol.

Right I have yet to see one in the wild. I see plenty of pros and orange color. I feel like I saw more mini than anything when they first came out.
