The iPhone Air was by far the most pleasant phone I've held... that I can remember. That feeling made me want to use it.

I wish I hadn't decided to return it. lol

Yes, having a .5, 4x, 8x camera is nice but I rarely use those. That feeling the hand - you feel A LOT per day. Made me want to use the phone more - reading on it for hours was enjoyable - every time I picked that phone up, it was nice.
Funny you mention the reading on it for hours part. I was doing just that in bed last night, fell asleep and didn't break my nose. Another win for the Air! 🤣

I love using the Air because of how thin and big (6.5 inch screen) this device is. It feels like I'm just holding a screen when I use it and watching videos is very pleasant using this device. I usually don't use this device to watch videos because at home I have my MBP with a 32 inch 4k external display to use or I have my iPad Pro to use to watch video content. Overall my experience using my Air has been very pleasant and I still continue to use my Air as my primary iPhone although I also have my new 17 Pro and 13 mini to use. I like having options when using my hand held devices. :)

I assume there are a fair number of buyers in camps similar to mine where the features, or lack of, on the Air are dealbreakers in our daily use cases but I would never consider myself a 'power user' and certainly am not a content creator. Does it really come down to these people being jealous that the Air "looks better"? Honest question. I personally don't care for the look of the Air and have never purchased a phone due to looks so that is interesting to me.
We are similar.
I don’t personally find the Air a better looking phone, in fact it looks a little odd to me because it has one rear Camera, I cannot point to many “thin” phones that I think look good.

I mean if a Pro/Pro Max user felt the Air looks better and that matters a lot to them, they than can go trade their Pro/Pro Max in for a great amount, get an Air even on the second hand market for a greatly reduced price due to the high depreciation and use the change to get the MagSafe Air battery and a few other things.

With the above being said, absolutely agreed with your points regarding not needing to be a “power user” (what the hell does that even mean in 2025?) or “content creator” to prefer a Pro/Pro Max.

This is why I have mine. The feel factor. I have no case and the phone disappears in my pocket. I didn’t like the 16 case less nor the pocket feel with the 16 (maybe my pants are too tight lol). But with the mini and air it disappears. Same with the hand feel of the air. 16 was uncomfortable to hold. The mini you need a case to feel nice in the hand but the air’s chamfered edges feel great.

I'm thinking about getting an iPhone Air. I know that some of you have bought one and had a "wow" experience when first using it, but do you still feel that way about the phone? Or is it a phase that has faded? I'd like to know.
I absolutely still love mine! It’s proven to be more durable without a case than any other iPhones I’ve owned. I will say that the two sacrifices for me have been battery life and the cameras. But I’d still pick it. When I hold it, it’s just an experience that can’t be replaced with more battery or more cameras. I’m excited to see what comes next!

Still undecided - air vs regular 17, regular 17 is really complete package, phone with no weak point… buuuut air loooks so nice, futuristic, it is steve jobs era phone… first world problems, i know

Assuming you can afford the purchase without sacrificing essentials, find a good offer for the Air and give it a shot. Use it caseless and enjoy it at its best.

I upgrade from a 14PM Space Black to Air Light Gold in October: fresh air form factor, really a beautiful iPhone. Battery is good for my daily use, camera could be better with wide and tele but is more than enough for most of the use.

Almost a month after getting my blue Air, I’m liking it even better than when I got it. Definitely feels like an upgrade for me and is 100% usable as a main phone. It's not a side piece and is the best all around phone on the market. Still a delight to pick up.

Cellular service is definitely better. In the grocery store I was previously not able to send messages well but they are quick now. Even though I switched carriers when I got the phone (Verizon to Consumer Cell), I still think the C1X is making it better.

Battery life is really good. I just put it on my MagSafe duo when not using it. Have only used the battery pack once or twice. I also use an Apple TV, watch, and Mac, so I don’t do everything on my phone.

Definitely more careful with my phone now that I’m using it caseless, but I still have an Asurion plan. I’m barely using the USB-C port as to not scratch it 😉

Although I still notice a sound difference, I don’t miss the second speaker.

I was having macro usability issues on my Pro (it had a scaled up cropped image from the UW camera), so it’s nice to have closeup capabilities with the high quality main lens.

Also, this is a bit nerdy, but it’s interesting that this is the thinnest iPhone box too. Compared are a 17 Pro Max*, Air, and 4 box. (photo taken on Air)

*I do not have a 17PM to compare with. I know someone who got one and I asked for the box. I like boxes.

Asking if strangers on a forum like their phone and using those subjective reason answers as a basis for purchase is illogical. It doesn't matter whether other strangers like their phone. They should have no say in any financial decision the OP makes in regards to the Air. And yet, the OP is wanting to give complete strangers that kind of power.

It makes more sense for the OP to go to the Apple Store, if one is near by, and test the phone in person. If that isn't enough time, the OP should purchase the Air and test it further during the return period deadline. The OP should not be looking to strangers to help make a buying decision.

People evaluate things differently, some people like to hear others experiences to help inform theirs.

I still like my Air, but kind of diminished that "love feeling" by putting a ultra thin case on it. It's still thin, but doesn’t look as nice. Unfortunately with a toddler in my house (who also unfortunately loves to grab my phone whenever she can) and me canceling AppleCare+, the case is kind of important to me. I'm happy to keep this phone for at least 2-3 years, hopefully longer.

I don’t think that an ultra thin case will protect it from a catastrophic fell. Naked and AC+ is the way for the Air. M2C.

It wouldn't. But it gives it a much better grip making it less likely to fall out of the hands or pockets or whatever else. I’ve been using the same Peel case in my last few iPhones, never had an issue with them.

Again, I’d absolutely stick with AC+ and no case for the Air if I didn’t have a phone-hungry toddler running around the house. I don’t even use my phone around her, but she seems to always find a way to get it.

I’ve got a 4 years old boy: I used my previous 14 PM naked, I’m using my Air naked. He knows that my phone is not a toy and that he could not touch it if I say no. Different approaches 🤷🏻‍♂️

interestingly . . . I have been noticing higher cycle counts for a phone I have had a few months. Currently my cycle count is now at 71 with 100% battery health.

How I use my Air, I'm not worried about the battery health on this device since I'm never far from a charging source or have access to a battery pack and by the time the Air2 comes out in 2027, the battery on my Air will still be in solid health.
