interestingly . . . I have been noticing higher cycle counts for a phone I have had a few months. Currently my cycle count is now at 71 with 100% battery health.

How I use my Air, I'm not worried about the battery health on this device since I'm never far from a charging source or have access to a battery pack and by the time the Air2 comes out in 2027, the battery on my Air will still be in solid health.
When I had my Air - I noticed I was consuming cycles at a significantly faster rate than my 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max. Also didn't help that Apple's MagSafe Air battery does not let the phone bypass the internal battery and run off of the external - so when I was out and about with the Air battery, I was still consuming cycles daily.

Going to be interesting to see how these Air batteries age - we've seen some 15 Pro Maxes with 1000+ cycles and still over 80% health - one recently was 81% at 1600 cycles. lol https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ount-and-battery-health.2421821/post-34352599

But your approach is spot on - these are tools to be used and these batteries can handle 1000 cycles and still retain a lot of health. Thank you for the update and looking forward to more :D

I have had my 17 Pro for 25 days now and its cycle count is still at 3. A huge change between the Air and my 17 Pro. We’ll see how this goes . . . at least if the battery dies out on me with my Air, I can easily switch to my 17 Pro but for now I will continue using my Air as my primary iPhone.

Still love picking up this beautiful thin and light iPhone😎

EDIT: Just checked the cycle count on my Air and it is currently at 71 with 100% for battery health. Since taking it off its AC source and allowing the iPhone to run completely on its own battery, my level is now at 94% since 0800 this morning (now 2:35pm).

I’ve got a 4 years old boy: I used my previous 14 PM naked, I’m using my Air naked. He knows that my phone is not a toy and that he could not touch it if I say no. Different approaches 🤷🏻‍♂️
She's 14 months old. Doesn’t quite understand no and grabbing things that aren’t her's yet. Slowly working on it! 🙆‍♀️

I got a blue Pitaka case for Christmas and am really liking the look and feel it gives. I acknowledge it does not have good drop protection, but I do not have kids to break my phone.
Also, I’m having less battery cycles than before thanks to the battery lasting longer on the Air than on my 15 Pro. I don’t use my phone for everything which helps. I have 24 cycles so far and have had it for 29 days.

Asking if strangers on a forum like their phone and using those subjective reason answers as a basis for purchase is illogical. It doesn't matter whether other strangers like their phone. They should have no say in any financial decision the OP makes in regards to the Air. And yet, the OP is wanting to give complete strangers that kind of power.

It makes more sense for the OP to go to the Apple Store, if one is near by, and test the phone in person. If that isn't enough time, the OP should purchase the Air and test it further during the return period deadline. The OP should not be looking to strangers to help make a buying decision.
Personally, I like to gather the opinions of people with knowledge of whatever product I'm looking at before making a purchase. However, this particular person was very specifically asking if people who bought a product still like it after a certain amount of time. We all experience buyer's regret on occasion; the OP simply wants to know if that is an issue in the case of the iPhone Air.

I got that aspect from the OP. My main point was using feedback from strangers that determines one's purchase is illogical. The OP needs to buy and use the phone himself for 2 weeks. That would be enough use time to make an informed decision.

Me saying I like the phone a lot really doesn't mean anything, much less me saying I can get through the day on a single charge, because we all use the phone differently, with different apps, carrier, and locations

I have no problem with a person looking in a broad sense at feedback so long as that feedback isn't part of the foundation of a purchase that removes the aforementioned informed buying decision.

The OP is not alone. Far too often on this forum, people cling to logical fallacy to make a decision (tech or otherwise) and when that happens, the results are not what they should be, and then the same people complain over and over, wondering why the wheels on the bus keep going round and round in the same direction.

I regrettably went back from the Air to the 17 Pro. It was really about the battery and, to a lesser degree, the camera. I got 6 hours SOT for the Air and 8 hours for the Pro. I know it's a not a lot but it does matter to me.

Wnet and handed my Air back today and got the 17 Pro. I honestly loved the air but the camera let the phone down. It was the one and only issue I had with it.

Hmmm…why do I feel like both of you will be back on iPhone Airs soon? Lol
Sounds like you both enjoyed them except for 1 key aspect each.

Do people not charge there phones at work lol? I don’t get the issue with battery life when you can just plug it in.

I keep my phone on the MagSafe charging dock while at work.

Alas, when out for a whole day at theme parks and stuff, the longer the internal battery life the better even if one's carrying a power bank. When I went on vacation with my iPhone SE3, I needed 2 power banks to get through the day (and night).

I'm thinking about getting an iPhone Air. I know that some of you have bought one and had a "wow" experience when first using it, but do you still feel that way about the phone? Or is it a phase that has faded? I'd like to know.
I don't own one, but played around with it at the iStore. It's cool that they can make it so thin and light, technology-wise, but I don't see any 'advantage' to it. All 'regular' iPhones are pretty small and light already. I mean, are we getting so weak that a regular phone seems 'heavy'? :) Also, I take lots of photos, and like/need more than one 'lens'.

I think the new 17 Pro’s feel very heavy, especially compared to the 15 Pro’s. Apple went backwards with those.

The Air is noticeably lighter than the 17 Pro’s, which is why I chose the Air this year. If you had both at home, which I did for a month, you would always be grabbing the Air compared to the 17 Pro’s that I also had.

I also take a lot of photos and do miss UW, but only used it in less than 10% of my photos. Still I wished the Air had it, but every phone has its positives and negatives.

My wife and nieces got 17 Pros and when I was setting up my wife's 17P I couldn't believe just how heavy and bulky it felt. After owning the Air since release I definitely made the right decision. People that claim the Air isn't that thin or use numbers to say it's only "X grams" ligher really haven't used both.

It's incredible how thinner, lighter and easier the Air is to use day to day. I haven't been caseless on a phone since the X.

My wife has a 13PM. It’s like a chunk of steel lol.

This exactly. I attend a lot of day events/festivals that tend go into the night.
For example last month I attended one, my GF brought a powerbank for her 13 Pro Max (it’s at around 81% health now), my 17 Pro Max simply didn’t need it, we left home at around 14:30, we got back home around 3:00am, my 17 PM was still at around 30% battery, despite all the pictures and videos we took, all the AirDrop-ing etc…between us and friends + family, phone calls, ordering Ubers (we did a 2nd location, you know how that goes lol), doing purchases with ApplePay etc etc…
I thought I would possibly need the powerbank due to how bad the signal gets there as the event gets packed but nah, it was not needed for my 17PM.

Battery life I guess is always down to lifestyle and needs. The Air + MagSafe Air Pack might be perfect for many out there who have alight different needs.
