If I own it, it's locally listened to. I don't sync it all with iTunes though, I just load it through the file manager in DiskAid. Why? Because singles, EPs, and all the other stuff is a PITA to sort through.

And those are the kind of things that labels don't like to keep hanging around for very long on iTunes or streaming services.

Stored locally. What happens to you guys who are out of signal on your network or have a weak signal?

I could never rely on a network to stream music due to it's unreliability. It's almost guaranteed to lose signal or have an unreliable signal when you're travelling at speed on the train or when you're on the move. If you live in London and are travelling on the tube/underground as many people do there is no signal so you'll have to rely on locally stored music if you want to listen to music on your daily commute.

Also, the battery drain on 3G/4G is quite high. That's why i avoid streaming music over a cellular network.

iTunes Match allows you to download the songs to your device as well. I went to an area with no signal a couple weeks ago and just downloaded the albums I knew I wanted to listen to.

i simply do both, some time i streaming on iTunes radio and sometime stored on my device but mostly i would like to streaming.

A little bit of both, but mostly stored locally. I use Spotify to listen to new songs and if I like them enough then I buy it in iTunes to keep a local copy. I used to use Spotify's offline feature, but the paranoid control freak in me didn't like that I didn't get a "physical" file to backup

Offline playlists on Spotify.

Google Play Music All Access - unlimited data.

I have no music stored on my iPhone except around 1gb of cached playlists. In fact, my iPhone has never been connected to a computer, no reason to use iTunes for anything at all.

Encode and store my music locally on my iMac. Primarily CD rips from my collection, which I have been gradually upgrading to 320k AAC (VBR). I also have LP transfers, PCM rips from DVD and DVD-A discs, and analog SACD transfers that I encode and store in uncompressed 48 kHz/24-bit or 96/24 AIFF.

I use iTunes Match for my work PC and iPhone. Most of the time, I stream my tracks (or rather, the iPhone downloads them as needed and I periodically delete them when I need the storage space), or other services like iTunes Radio, Soundcloud, or TuneIn.

With my phone, I will load up some playlists locally if I'm going on a long road trip through rural areas (T-Mobile's data network has a lot of dead spots in the outlying areas, so it helps to be prepared).

I do both, I have a nicely sized music library but I also use Pandora (free version). I mostly use Pandora now, and don't buy my music. I really see less and less of a need to purchase it when I can easily stream it.

Local collection. Internet isn't good enough for streaming and I like collecting CDs anyway.

iTunes Match

I have a 16k song music library in iTunes so I just stream them with iTunes Match on my iPhone and iPad. I download some songs to the device locally from iTunes Match if I know I'm going into a weak signal area and delete them later.

I've found that iTunes Match has eliminated my desire for a larger capacity iPhone. I have a 32gb and had considered going 64gb but now it's no longer necessary.

I stream music from various web radio.
I have only 16GB of storage on my phone but I have a 20GB data plan so I could stream music all day long if necessary :)

Do both. Google music 20,000 songs uploaded serves me fine. Local songs when out of cell tower range or wifi range works fine.

Spotify Premium all the way.

Unlimited data, so why not.

Yup, me too. Spotify, for me, has really been the best thing what could have happened to music. Access to basically all music, anywhere whenever you want.

I don't know about other services, but Spotify allows you to download all your playlists, albums, etc. locally for offline playback.

Yes but you have to pay for that feature. The people who pay for streaming, I believe, is in the minority.

One of the reasons I always buy the 32Gb version is to have space for music and videos.I don't like streaming so much cause if for example you don't have internet connection then what????I have about 15Gb of music on my iPhone.

As already mentioned, premium versions of streaming apps offer offline downloads. Most of my Spotify playlists are offline.

Higher quality streaming and downloads are the reasons I pay for it. And to get rid if the adverts.

Both. I have about 20% of my music that isn't available on Spotify or any other sources. Beyond that, most of my stored music is lossless as well. One of the reason I need a larger iPhone

Why do I have to pay for these services when I already have a really good app with the name "Music"...?!?!?!And don't tell me that is easier cause with iTunes it's far more easy to sync the music that you already have on your Mac/PC...I prefer to take advantage of my iPhone and all it's capabilities like iPod and don't install another app for music. :)

Depends on where i am. as i only have 1gb of data to share with my boyfriend, streaming isn't an option unless i'm near wifi.
