I would say for me personally lighter is always better but not at the expense of battery life. And that’s a balancing act

My girlfriend was getting rid of her Xs, I was thinking of taking it to replace my 8. Carrying in my pocket, it was far too heavy. Stuck with the 8.

My 11 actually feels lighter than my 6s, because the 6s was in a battery case. Even so it's certainly not heavy.

Not until I use my A71 (which is plastic). It is much lighter than I thought it would (having 4500mAh battery).
Larger battery means more weight, so it's difficult to want a lighter phone (without compromising materials and build quality) while also want a large battery. Anything less than 200g is probably alright in my book.

Pretty god damn heavy imo. I miss the good old days of the iPhone 4 :/ no wonder I take my watch instead of my iPhone with me when going out. Apple Watch I love you!!!

Recently I had a chance to pick up an iPhone 7 Plus, and I was surprised it was so light, given the fact that it was made of aluminum.
Ever since the release of iPhone 8, every flagship iPhone has been equipped with glass back and stainless steel. This made this phone significantly heavier than before. It caused muscle strain when heavily used.
Is anyone missing the light weight of iPhone?

You mentioned ‘it caused a muscle strain’, but you didn’t really elaborate on that. If it caused a ‘muscle strain‘ in your hand, then you’re holding the phone for long durations one handed or you’re holding it too long with your grip too tight. I’ve never heard anyone complain about a muscle strain in their hand with a smart phone. Not saying it can’t happen, but maybe you should try some hand calisthenics or strengthening exercises where that won’t happen. Or of course, downsize your phone.

After almost three years with the X I got used to its weight, but sometimes when I think of it, it's a bit too heavy for the size. My 11-inch iPP feels subjectively lighter due to how the weight is distributed over the body.

Using an 8 plus I wouldn't call it 'light as a feather' but neither does the weight bother me. It's just fine.
Same for my 11PM. Starting to get a little big for my pockets, but the weight never bothers me. Maybe because I've never been a one handed user. I prefer to use both thumbs to text for higher speed.

I was thinking maybe because they are using a bigger phone, and their thumb is getting stretched reaching for the top.
