I was not going to use any case, but then I saw the ultra-thin Griffin Reveal and decided to give it a shot. So far, I am happy with it and continue to use it, but I did not use the screen protector they included.
1. It is a phone, I have more expensive watches that I don't cover.
2. I have camera equipment worth 20 times as much that I don't cover.
3. Most cases prohibit certain functions. (Charging and synching in other devices for example.)
4. It reminds me of my uncles house in 1968, plastic on all the furniture to preserve it, preserve it for what? ? ? he never took the plastic off, so it was always this ugly junk covering the design.
Use the phone, like your car, which is much more expensive, it is going to get scratched and dinged, but the life of a phone, with the way technology moves is about 14 months.

I don't use a case as it adds bulkiness to the phone, and i don't want a screen protector on the 3GS as it has an oleophobic screen - having a screen protector would make the special screen pointless.
What are you thoughts?
I also agree that you have some good points, but, I like to sell my old iPhones. On my wife's 3G She didn't use a screen cover and dropped it. Now it has 2 big scratches on the screen. Also, cost is not the issue. Most people get cases for their cellular phones, not just iPhones. Some want to add a clip so it can be attached to the belt, sometimes you want to add bulk to a vey small phone so you can find it in a crowded book bag. That being said. I put a screen protector on my 3GS and now it's got fingerprints all over the screen. It looks horrible, so I'm taking it off. Just my 2cents.
No.
Apple designers worked their butts off to design a stunning, beautiful, slick phone. Am I going to cover that up with plastic flimsy bulkiness and plain out ugliness just to protect myself from my own clumsiness? No.
(I'm not clumsy. I won't ruin my phone because of my own non-existent flaws.)

Good points, but some people don't use cases solely for protection. Some like to give the phone a different look or feel - make it original.
Me personally, I still like the feel of a nice leather case - gives the phone an executive feel, much different than plastic in the hand.
*nothing at this moment.
But I will be putting Dr. Gonzo on the back.. Protects from scratches and adss some extra style. I like to know wich is mine or have something diff from the plain white...
