I have never once used Apple Pay or Android Pay on any of my iPhones/Android phones. I don't even think to check if it's accepted anywhere, I just automatically use my debit card.

I use it at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Walgreens, Chevron (they have a nice car wash attached), and various online stores too. Trader Joes and Whole Foods get a significant amount of our family food funds...had three transactions at Whole Foods today;). Yum!

FYI it's more secure to use Apple Pay when you can rather than your debit card.

I don't even know if any of the places I go to even accept Apple Pay. I don't go to Subway or McDonalds or Walgreens or anywhere people have mentioned in this thread.

I never see the Apple logo anywhere so I assume it's not accepted.

I use it at:
Tescos
Starbucks
The London Underground (same cheap rates as Oyster)
Pubs
The Gym

I use it wherever I can. I find it very convenient with my Apple Watch.

If the £30 cap was increased I'd use it more.

I just want to know WHERE people are using it? Apple has a list, but the retailers are like L.L. Bean...o_O

Ironically, the last place I used Apple Pay was at L.L. Bean :D

For the hassle I will still pick my card over Apple Pay. Been behind too many people trying to use the service. My bank protects me from fraudulent activity and sliding my card through the reader only takes a second and its done.

as long as Apple Pay has been out it does not seem to be dominating the market. Choice is good and if you want to use it, that's up to you.

Wegmans, Whole Foods, Apple Store, Shoppers Food, Trader Joes. I used to use it at Home Depot but that no longer works. I've tried it at several other stores that have contactless payment terminals, but I have been told they are turned off.

I'd rather go threw the hassle of trying to use apple pay, which literally takes 2 seconds (and if the NFC light is green, you already know whether or not they take Apple pay). So no, I don't waste time, before I even go to pay, I know whether or not it will work. Secondly, I'd rather take those 2 seconds to try it, then to deal with my bank and getting a new ATM card, etc. etc. when the information gets swiped.

I will literally use it anywhere that accepts contactless / Apple Pay.

Most of the time I know what does accept and what doesn't, I just find it 10x easier. Also found out one of the Tesco's that I use (no as much as the others) also takes contactless now :)

To each his own. Most of the little places I pay with cash and like I said my bank would have me a new card by 10am the next day so there is no hassle on my end.

All of my cards are chipped and you have no clue if you wait on your bank to return money. Mine it is returned the day I call them and a new card would be overnighted and in my hands by 10am the next day.

For all the little Mickey D and other small purchases I use cash while you get off flashing your phone or watch to get a drink and fries.:p

Yes, I DO have to stand in line behind idiots trying to get their Apple pay crap to work!

I get points and cash back for every purchase on my credit card, and also don't see a need to go to the ATM, so I don't carry cash.

Also, most banks do not give you a credit if fraudulent charges appear on your debit card. You have to wait for the investigation to end before they give you the money back, which can be up to a month or two. This is where Apple Pay makes sense.

I hope you didn't swipe your debit card at Wendy's.

I use it wherever / whenever only slight annoyance is in Wallet on the phone, I believe it lists what you've bought, but having the watch I've never used the phone, so doesn't list stuff, just a minor niggle that should be easy for apple to correct, & for those who can't activate it on the phone prior to purchase, I'd double click with my thumbnail, only annoyance on the phone was had to google how to change default card.

You need to change banks as you are misinformed. My bank, Wells Fargo would refund even with a debit card. They return the money right then and then they investigate. You must be a low priority customer at your bank. I prefer cash for the little stuff and never eat a Wendys. Apple pay make no sense to me

Like I've said, I don't care because I use a credit card for everything anyways, since you get points and cash back, plus other benefits. I only use my debit card at the ATM, and inside banking vestibule ATM's at that, which are less likely to have skimmers installed on them.

I used to have Wells Fargo but they don't have any branches where I live, nor do they have ATM's, and it was an extra bank account so I got rid of them.

I think we can all agree to disagree on whether or not it's useful for someone to use Apply Pay.

However, there is no denying that using Apple Pay is more secure than using your debit card. That's a fact.

HSBC & KeyBank have contactless cards with MasterCard paypass technology, which is basically the same concept as Apple Pay, except without touch ID involved. Contactless is not stupid.

If your debit card has a chip I'm not sure if it is all that different.

Apple Pay is certainly quicker for me than getting my wallet out and fiddling with which card to get out etc. I can grab my phone out my pocket, double tap the home button and hold my finger lightly on the sensor and the machine accepts payment all within a couple of seconds. There is no cashier handing you your card back and again fiddling with my wallet to get the card back in. Apple Pay is faster and convenient and I like the fact I don't have to touch grubby chip and pin machines.

That's true, but inserting for chip and pin is definitely way slower than swiping which is what the poster was referring to. Also Apple Pay is significantly faster than inserting for chip and pin.

When I went to Canada in the summer, I was amazed at how fast my transactions were with Apple Pay, and how unbearably slow they were with Chip and Pin.
