I watch movies on iPhone 6s plus via VLC player which allows you to add movies on the app through itunes from laptop or else I use Kodi to live stream movies or live TV

It depends, Some light videos like 5 minutes or watching you favorite KPOP band?? 10 minutes still fine though on my iPhone 8 Plus. But For 1 hour and more i don't as it makes my eye hurt.

I do watch 2 hours videos or play games like arena of valor for 2 matches on my iPad Mini 4 or iPad Pro 10.5 when i'm on the starbucks. but on bedtime i prefer iPad Pro 12" or Macbook lol.

That is why they get rid of iPod Touch, i only use iPhone for alarm clock, texting, calling, music and some browsing

All the time. Only on the Plus version of the iphones, though. When you consider letterboxing, it's almost as big as an iPad Mini display
I don't think so, iPhone Plus models are only 12.8 Square inch while iPad Mini is 30 Square inch. Almost means like 7 Inch tablet compared to iPad Mini that is 20 square inch when you consider letterboxing.

When I'm on my break at work I watch movies on my iPhone. But other than that, no.

iPhone even Plus models are EXTREMELY SMALL for watching movies especially for more than 1 hour. 12 Square inch?? No way... If you watch kpop bands i want to see their face just as big as mine, or bigger than my face, when the camera is close to their face. But iPhone 6/7/8 Plus People's face like pop are still small,

No, and it seems like over 55% agree. Hence why the notch is overblown.

Straining your eyes to watch a tiny 5.5 inch screen for hours isn't the best idea. Im sure a podcast or something is better use of travel time, you know those days when society didnt need digital gadget stimulation every few minutes

I was going to say the same thing. And this crowd is probably skewing the numbers. I suspect the less tech savvy are even less likely to watch movies or video on their phone in landscape with any regularity. I wonder how many ever use their phone in landscape period.

No, Even the largest phone with 6.9 inch is TOO SMALL.. to watch a 2 hours movie, how much more on a Phablet with a size of 5.5-6.9".

iPad Mini with 7.9 Inch is the most minimum size for an apple device to ENJOY Watching full movies. Don't ever bother watching on 5/5S/SE They are extremely small, even if you have Good eyesight it can easily strain your eyes.

Truelaley Sister, So TRUE. Even the iPhone 6 Plus with 12.9 Square inch is EXTREMELY SMALL to watch a FULL MOVIE like 2-3 houes movie right??? iPad Mini with 22 Square inch with letterbox is much better like 2 times bigger than biggest iPhone lol... i feel you that after 30 minutes i've watch on my iPhone 7 Plus it's just small, unlike the iPad Mini i can watch for more than 7 hours HAHAHAHA... without getting EYESTRAIN.

No.

I "listen" to them on Android using MX Player Pro and background play. Apple's TV app to play videos is garbage.

Redownloading The Hateful Eight again on The Piratebay. I noticed the second one I downloaded has the chapters written in a different language. iOS is inferior with video player apps, no torrent apps, no file manager, and isn't compatible to files in MKV or DIVX/AVI. No time to convert.

To me, iOS is inferior to Android in every way when it comes to multimedia playback. Was even watching Captain America: Civil War using its PiP feature while leaving comments on YouTube. To me, iOS is boring and will continue to be boring to use with its "just works" excuses until Apple starts opening up a little more like allowing emulators, theming, file manager, video compatibility, and torrent apps.

I only use SE for work and usually as an iPod. I hate the TV app and would generally fall asleep anyway since the display is too small. I prefer watching movies at home on my Samsung TV. Just being honest. It wouldn't improve if all we did was praise and accept what Apple does. I like iPhone for other reasons but not to handle media files and to view videos on it.

The funny thing is that last time I tried to lug my widescreen TV and all the related sound gear onto the commuter train it turned out there wasn't enough room to set them up, not to mention that there wasn't enough AC power and I'd get to work before I finished setting it up.

So, yeah, I get it. The iPhone is a crappy playback platform. Except when it's better than the alternatives.

I only seldom watch Netflix on my 8+ on my daily commute while I'm on the subway. I prefer listening to podcasts while commuting so I can rest my arms and my phone is safe in my pocket. Sometimes I watch stuff on youtube while I'm on the bed and I don't feel like going to another room to get the iPad, but I'd say the iPad and Apple TV are my favorite devices to enjoy movies.

Would be nice if iPhones had Pi

nplayer free or the pro is the solution, way better the mx player on android you can even watch movies via lightning connector( sandisk ixpand) it will detect automatically.ill just download movies using documents 6 and transfer to the ixpand.

Rarely if ever... until I got my X and Apple released a few iTunes movies in HDR. I’ve since watched a good chunk of The Martian and a few scenes from Lego Batman on it, both in HDR. They really pop on this display. The Martian rescue scenes with the red Mars surface surrounded by deep black space and gleaming spacecraft are stunning on the OLED display.

It’s still a small screen for extended watching but good in a pinch and terrific for showing off what the new display can do.

The Word Almost can never be the Same as "Same" Word. The word almost does not exist almost in Asian Countries because they have much more great mathematical skills when it comes to screen size. Still, the iPad Mini is much bigger than both iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone XE Max by 2 times when playing 16:9. and about 2.4 times bigger when watching old 4:3 Cartoons or 5:4 Movies.

Twice and big, you say, huh?
As long as you don’t mind stretching the video to the whole screen (I don’t) it is much, much closer to the iPad Mini’s screen. Also, yes, this scene is not 16:9, but most movies are not anyways, and TV series are more about characters than what’s going on in the screen, so stretching the video to the whole XS Max display is not a problem for me. In practical use, they are very close. Sufficiently so for most (including Apple, given that they stopped producing the iPad mini).

[doublepost=1543581633][/doublepost]For the 7 Plus you may well be right. The difference from the 7/8 Plus to the XS Max, though, is QUITE significant.
