For the opposite reason the 13" is the most popular. I would be fine with a bigger screen, but got a 13" because it was in the sweet spot for pricing.

Happy with choosing the range topper, have had zero issues and I feel they are blown out of proportion on this site. Wouldn't have felt right buying the old model now it's replacement is here.
I probably shouldn't even bother trying to explain but I must be bored...
If you go back you will see that I merely asked why you were bagging on the rMBP look as well as function. You went through 6 replacements and called it a bad chunky design (the way I read it). Understandable from a function but NOT design perspective because the thing looks great man.
You should not be so critical of English when your own usage is obviously lacking. (Then vs than)

Of course this community is no random sample of all of Apples customers but I think it could be argued that it is an educated subset. Why lie on an anonymous forum?

I've been working with Illustrator using the "more space" option. Everything looks crisp - and everything is still readable/usable at this size for me. I actually prefer it to working on illustrator on a 15" display at it's native resolution. Otherwise I use an external display.
No return, replacement, or repair.
Never thought about getting a cMBP.
It's only inspired me to make my whole workstation apple.
I'm getting a thunderbolt display, apple TV, and I already bought an Airport Extreme.

love the retina. It's not really as powerful as you'd like for the price, but the screen and thinness is incredible. I plan on upgrading to third gen if I can afford it. The screen is really amazing, and I find Windows great at that resolution (though I do have corrected greater than 20/20 vision). Gaming is great too for games like Skyrim, but only if you are happy with 15ps at retina resolution or close to 60fps with the lowest resolution available (which I don't mind, low resolution is growing on me, it's a softer image).
I have no regrets. My previous computer, 2010 Air, was the most powerful computer I have ever owned. That was core 2 duo with less than HD3000 equivalent graphics, the retina is i7 with 650M. The default retina resolution (not pixel density) is the same as my old Air, but I keep it at the "best" retina setting. At least it's the effective resolution I'm used to, but on a bigger screen.

I reckon i'll probably wait for another generation of Retina, I'm pretty happy with my MBP atm, but i've seen the retina display as my friend has one and it is pretty awesome. Everything else just needs to catch up now.
No, it is the best computer I ever had! It runs both Final Cut 7 and X smoothly, and it runs my financial simulations VERY fast. My MacPro octo has been relegated to rendering-slave, which is amazing if you think about it.

After spending $2.5k-$3k. You convince your self that low res is okay. Keep letting Apple know to hold back on performance and make LOW the new HIGH.
If I can't game at High or Ultra...time to move on or stick with Consoles

The issue with the rMBP for me is this;
everything about is it fantastic.. except apple has put a screen into a mobile computer that is ahead of the internals needed to power it.
In a generation (or two) when igp catches up OR discrete GPU's can handle it.. the rMBP will be a no brainer. For now.. its fantastic if you want a taste of what the future can be.

why would you have to play at lowest res? my rMBP runs Skyrim at 1680x1050 with basically ultra graphics settings just fine. I don't have a way to get the actual frame rate, but its high enough I never notice anything but fluid motion.
when I went to upgrade my macbook air to a pro, I originally wanted the cmbp but after seeing the screen of the retina, I just couldn't settle for the screen on the cmbp
I've swapped my CMBP to RMBP and I'm very happy. Even though I had to go with hassle and change it three times. This is the best computer you can get today! Period! Super fast, powerful, portable, great battery life, amazing graphics, etc etc...what else you can ask for? This is it!🙂🙂🙂

The key point is "For You". I love the 15, I think it is the perfect balance in size screen/weight. so i'm overjoyed that the 15 came out first. This is a good machine. I noticed that if you post that the new rMBP smells funny. you would get 30 replies that would agree. They sell thousands of these and only a few get complaints about the screen. Take it back and get a new one till your are happy. I don't get the buyers regret, I love this machine. If the screen is not big enough get yourself a TB display.
We've hit a plateau in the poll results for some time now. 30% of respondents have had problems, half of them have regrets. 70% of respondents have had no problems (or very minor ones that don't bother them).
For me, I simply could never justify buying such a machine that has a 30% chance of an issue requiring I either mail it off for many days or have to drive many hours to an Apple store until I get one in pristine condition. I am simply not as patient as the 15% represented here.

Lol . . . I would not go that far, but I am having a good experience with my rMBP, thus far.
Love my rMBP, but sometimes i wish it was the same machine with a native 1920x1200, or 1080p screen. Massive resolution is awesome at times, but a hindrance at others.
too bad those numbers are wrong... there is no way you can even assume those numbers are right. This was not a controlled survey... anyone can answer anything they want for any reasons whether they own a rMBP or not. It could really be 90% of buys hate the machine... it could be 2%, it could be 78%... this poll means nothing, at all...
No one said it was scientific or controlled. Just some data, take it for what's its worth.
