I see that now people are trying to regard the unibody macbooks as a collectors model, but how about the blackbooks? You can't even buy them anymore, and not many people did since it was more expensive then the white versions. What do you think, blackbook owners, do you still love your blackbooks?

Well if the black macbook is a collectors edition, then all previous mac notebooks are collectors editions :D.

But I think it is the really short lived production cycle of the uMB that makes it a collectors edition.

I always wanted a black Macbook.. here's hoping the bring one out again sometime :(

I always liked them to! Had the hardest time choosing between white or black.. I ended up buying the white but it was only for a few days cause I returned it for the Collectors Edition. (this was back when the original aluminum MacBook was released)

Anyone that does not is a Racist

HAHA!!

I brought the black MacBook, well then they came out with the UBM a week later so the returned it. I guess I really did like the black one because I brought the speck case in black, looks just like it-kinda :D

the UMB's are called a collectors edition because theyre the only unibody macbooks ever. The polycabonate macbook, in black and white, has has several iterations. the UMB never recieved any official updates, and was short lived, thus collectors edition

I had a black MacBook, and I loved it. The case continually cracking and the underpowered GMA950, not so much.

i love my blackbook :)

My Blackbook is still going strong, I have always preferred the Macbooks for some reason, maybe because I am not a "Pro" user, but I guess, my next Macbook purchase is going to end up being a "Pro" now, unless of course they reinvent the Macbook line once again in the next update. It feels rather weird that they just pretty much left the Macbook line so "bare" right now considering that their senior designer Jony Ive mentioned that "The Macbook is our most popular Mac" back in October. I can't wait to see what this new "touchpad" notebook or whatever notebook they introduce in the next update is going to be like.
:)

Mine is still going strong, it comes to work with me. However it was the first gen blackbook that came out in 2006 so i need to replace the bluetooth module and isight, these don't work. Warranty runs out sept this year.

I had a Black MacBook but sold it to my brother because I was short on rent....I cant me bad because its still in the family n still going strong plus my brother really loves it.;)

I never bought one because of the price, but my friends have a few and they love them. I would take a MacBook / Pro unibody over it though any day. I'd rather have the power over the color.

I remember buying my black MacBook when it was first announced.

I replaced it with a uMB back in February because the battery was dead. It is running my media centre (eyetv + front row) now.

*sigh* the memories!!
