I got my black as a very new refurb the same week the first unibody mackbooks came out.

Last model made, macbook 4,1--2.4ghz and 250GB

mine is still mint, as I use my iPod touch as my traveling netbook...

sure wish Apple would give the GMA X3100 drivers that power the on-board graphics for this notebook a major facelift, there is room for improvement.

My friend still has his black one. I still have the white macbook. I was going to get black one, but I thought the white one looked more nicer and appealing :D

Hell yeah! Still love my 2.4GHz Blackbook:D I'm also kinda sentimental about mine, as it is the last revision released:p So I consider it a Blackbook Collectors Edition:D

Bit of a fingerprint magnet, but a black speck cover and moshi palmguard makes it a bit better! Still as awesome as the day I got it:)

I still have my blackbook (2.4) and i wish it had a glossy case (whitebook style). I wish i could get a logic board of a 2.13GHz whitebook and swap them.;)

best macbook by far.
feels the best on fingers.
Looks the best.

Only thing missing is illuminated keyboard.

I got a thread closed down, which i started along the lines of "black macbook is best"........

^Agreed. Though I wish it had a 9400m in it, I feel my 4,1 MacBook is all I really need. It takes a beating(along with my iPhone), the 2.4ghz processor and 4gb RAM is plenty for basic tasks, and takes care of simple photo editing. I don't game, I don't like the bulk of the 15" and larger Pros, and don't like the aluminum finish. Give me matte black gear any day of the week. I love the stealth and executive look of my matte black gadgets.

My only real complaint is the lack of a backlit keyboard, and the lower resolution. Despite having better colors than the X300 I got rid of to get it, I do miss being able to fit more on my desktop even though I have expose.

I love mine. Just replaced the top case after a water spill.

I do really like the unibody design though... I'd like to pick one up in a year or two. :)

I love my Black MacBook. It is my workhorse, but I doubt it will become a collectors item anytime soon. Perhaps ten years down the road if Apple doesn't come out with any more Black MacBooks.

My 2.4 ghz blackbook is about to be a year old and has served me well so far! It's so quiet and has no CPU whine I love it! It is rather tempting to get uMBP though. My brother just got one for college this summer and every time I see his computer and open it up I want to buy one haha

I had a black MacBook, and I loved it. The case continually cracking and the underpowered GMA950, not so much.

Hmm... I wonder is it possible swap the innards of the present MBW into the older MBB. I'm guessing the logicboard would be the same physical size but what about the mountings?

Can anybody confirm whether or not it is possible to swap the logic board from the new white macbook into a blackbook, specifically the latest 4,1 blackbook. I'm putting mine up for sale cause I want a better graphics card, so is there ANY way to get a better graphics card into the blackbook?

when the warranty on my unibody macbook wears out in 2012, I'm gonna paint it blue for the back, red for the sides, and orange for the palm rest. I'm also gonna paint the keys green.

BlackBook

I use my BlackBook as a teaching tool. Lately I've been teaching courses on computing in the statistics curriculum. I run my lectures as interactive sessions, so that the students can see what is happening as we actually use these tools in class. I love having all of my UNIX tools on a notebook. Many of my students have switched from Windows to Mac during the past year.... and I believe that my usage of the BlackBook has contributed to their desire to switch. Awesome!

Really I dont see why Apple doesnt bring the black macbook back unless of course the macbooks will change into a totally touchscreen device. Since the UMB changed into a UMBP I dont see why the macbook should only be in white?

My husband has one that he's still very happy with it. I have used it a few times but I don't really like it.. the keyboard and trackpad don't feel 'right' for me. Oh and I don't like how dirty it gets either.. how do you guys keep your blackbooks clean?
